apoppin got screwed over by Sapphire and he is know on crusade against all of ATI
Bug777 is confused
AMD share not doing good because of idiots at wall streetslooking to drop below $14 soon.
Nvidia very happy : )
Innovation is loosing the war as Nvidia and Intel armies go ever deeper into enemy territory. NVIDIA excepts a decisively victory and Intel isnt sure of total victory to grantee to them total market share.
Future looks bad for tech world !!

Wow, the guy you have repeatedly backed up for the past few years suddenly becomes "trollo" because he bought an nvidia card and is happy with it and argue's against somebody who does not, or can not believe it? Who's the troll here?
it just looks like ATis' partner's warranties are getting *worse* ... i will "add it in" to my future AMD Graphics card purchase ... 'peanuts' on a new card ... but it makes the partners look *cheap* [they are] by nickel and dimeing their customers on warranty service.Originally posted by: CaiNaM

and what is is about the Warranty ... are nvidia partners Starting to do what Sapphire does ... charge for RMA processing? or just PowerColor and ati partners? :Q
that sucks ...
well, the point i was trying to make was that it seems overall, nvidia's parters seem to offer better warranties overall.. there may be nv partner's like foxcomm that don't offer great warranties, but it was just my observation that, at least on the surface, it seems nv's partners offer better support...
total BS not "fact" ... i *did not* get screwed over by Sapphire ... my X1950p went the "normal RMA route" ... i still think their RMA policy "scam" stinks --it makes them look really *cheap* ... but that has *nothing* to do with their cards or changed my feelings for ATi whatsoeverOriginally posted by: tuteja1986

as usual ... what's new? - he argues with himself most of the timeBug777 is confused
100% beside the point ... and unrelated to this topic ... but we already know. AMD is having a streak of bad luck after a couple of years of stasis when they should have gone for intel's throat ... don't blame ME for THEIR stupidity ... and r600 is not "competitive" ... gotta be some sloppy engineering to miss something that *big* at the last hourAMD share not doing good because of idiots at wall streetslooking to drop below $14 soon.

bickering?!? ... i am *defending* myself from attacks of being a *new kind* of fanboy ... an 'elitist' who only like his current cardOriginally posted by: DeathReborn
All this bickering is quite pathetic.
I went from a 7800GT SLI to X1800XT CF machine without noticing anything different while PLAYING games (I don't stand there while ppl shoot at me). Using Catalyst 6.6 & FW 91.31 at the time if I recall.
Now my dad has the 7800's & he went from a FX5200, now that was noticeable. Going from the 7800GT's & X1800XT's to 8800GTS SLI wasn't that big a deal either, just much much faster.
Fact of the matter is, game PLAYERS don't pay attention to little details but instead prefer to have fun with their equipment.
Oh and apoppin, as for your 7800GS/X1950pro 3DMark 05 scores, I used to get 7300 (7800GT @ Stock 400/1000) & 8200 (7800GT @ 500/1200) using a A64 3500+. SLi was up in 11k-12k.
At earlier points you could see visible shimmering as it was really bad in some games but in later drivers it was not that visible at all. Fanboys on both sides exaggerated problems, still do.

Just stating the obvious- don't argue with someone - who would rather get personal and misrepresent facts. Is frustrating and puts one in a bad mood for no reason. As for which is the better card - the agp 7800gs or the agp x1950pro 512mb - I will leave that to reputable reviews.

the RMA period for my 7800GS OC is coming to an end - this week ... i MUST make a decision as my x1950p is NOT selling in FS/T [even with a free game bundled with it]
Sapphire AGP x1950p/512MB *Brand New* returned-from-RMA factory-sealed - $220 shipped
so ... if i don't sell it, i *will* buy a $200 PS [with the 'credit' i should have at NewEgg] and stick it back in my rig [after testing the x1950p - tomorrow - to make *sure* it is not DoA]
Are there any *comparisons* or *tests* you would like me to run on my 7800GS?
-Power Supply recommendations - for SLI 8800gtx ?
or - *suggestions* ?

Why not drop the price 20 bucks? Sure, it might be new and in the package, but very often not having a receipt will make people think twice. I'd say drop it to $200 and see if anything bites. Then save the extra money for an entire system build for when Alan Wake/Crysis comes out. Just my thoughts.Originally posted by: Killrose
Why not ebay it with a buy now price of $225 + $15 for shipping? I did a quick check of the going prices for completed listings and they are going for $245 with $12 or more in extra shipping tacked on. I'm not sure if yours is a retail or OEM card but you could possibly do better if you throw in a few old games too.
i don't like ebay .. the hassle for the 'extra' isn't worth it
as to dropping it $20 further ... i already offered a couple of games with it ...
there is a POINT where you don't want to *give it away* ... any new x1950p/512M is gonna cost $40 more and that "sapphire receipt" for a $15 RMA looks to be pretty much of a hassle anyway . ...
i am going to contact NewEgg tonight and start the 7800GS RMA process ... that way i lose *no money* ... i just get to buy my PS "in advance"
[sigh]
i think i can get a "nice" PS for $200 ... and if R600 xfire really takes 'more' than that - screw them, i'll pick up the 8900s for SLI
i don't mind a GPU from either company in my rig
looks like i am going back to ATi![]()
think i am gonna be any "easier" on r600 and AMD's *screw up*?

ANYWAY - NewEgg offered full credit on my 7800GS OC - provided i spend $200 on a Power Supply ... so i will buy it tonight and withdraw my x1950p from FS/T
What bang-for-buck *NewEgg only* PS for ~$200 will run SLI'd 8800GTX and Core2 Duo?
help please

If you want a decent power supply, grab a Thermaltake 600W (for those who like to bash thermaltake, their PSU's above 500W are in a totally different league quality wise to their 400W units - forget what you *think* you know about their quality) If you think you will be using SLi/crossfire when you upgrade, go for the 850W unit.

that's more like it. Probably Quad-core and Sli ... i'd like to be *safe* rather than sorry --for a few bucks.
i like it .... 850w and $215 with a $30 MIR = $185
but it is [relatively] quiet?
