Cars.

I currently own 3 (although I'm getting rid of my Conquest) and if I get a new daily driver, I'll sell the Prelude as well.

The budget to redo the mechanicals on my Trans Am was originally $8k. Now it's at $14k and climbing, because I keep adding things. Everyone I know thinks I'm retarded for putting that kind of $$ into a car that's worth maybe $3k with a stock motor / trans in it.

And, I'm going to look at new "daily driver" cars tomorrow. The one I'm looking at is ~12 years old, has 80k on it, and they're asking ~$18,600 - which looks like a good deal for what it is. All because I'd be miserable driving any new car in my price bracket.

And, both of the above cars will probably get 12-18 MPG and drink premium only.

That's my only real money pit.

I have a 1\8 scale glow engine Tamiya RC car... haven't driven it much lately though
I also build car models (mostly 1\24 scale), and the paints and other supplies aren't exactly cheap
Computers are another one of my hobbies (but seeing as I have a laptop now, future upgrades are severely limited).

I also like collecting knives (mainly pocket).

I would say cycling too, but I haven't had to buy any upgrades\replacement parts for my bike in some time (a Giant ATX990 full suspension).

I like a few, Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenmorangie 18, etc.

Have you ever tried Aberlour?
my Scotch experience has only limited to what restaurants and bars serve: Glenlivet and Glenfiddich. I had Johnny Walker Green Label a while ago but I forgot how it taste, cuz I was young and blasphemically mixed it with coke)

I look forward to Macallan and Glenmorangie various offerings when i get my next payraise and can actually buy a whole bottle... :)

I heard Oban is very good, but @ 60 bucks a bottle. I will pass.
I had some really good stuff in Edinburgh. Damned if I can remember the name, but it made my eyes water when the barkeep opened the bottle. A few drunks wanted some but didnt feel like paying 100 Pounds Sterling for a bottle. A bunch of tourists and a bunch of locals pooled our money together and we each had two shots. I gave my second one away. :(
As good as it may have been, I am NOT a scotch lover.

Surefire flashlights. I have 4 of them right now, probably about $400 bucks between them. I want a M4, and Kroma.

I also like modifiying Maglites. I've got 2 modded 2AA Minimags and am looking to build one of these.

Also computers, flying ( I wish ).

I hear you. My wife just dumped $1500 on a Les Paul for me, I just got a new practice amp for $250, and I fell in love with a custom made Yardbox from Prescription Electronics for some ungodly amount. I gotta stop :)

Oh I know. I have a gyroplane airframe under my carport as we speak. But I dont' have the money to proceed right now. Its a little one seater and the engine is like 4-5K by itself. Basic VFR instruments will be another 1500-2000 bucks, and thats' not including the rest of it!

It is for sure. I have worked on some expirimentals for pay. One of them was over 300K by the time all was said and done. The engine was 55K in 2000, and is more now.
