Like GTX 555.5.. with half a cluster unit more than GTX 555 while consuming same power and offering half a cluster worth of additional performance.
Let me ask you a serious question.
KNowing the next midrange chip from Nvidia is the gf114. (and this is a fact), We know the full gf114 chip is a enhanced version of a full gf104 right? or at least 99% sure. We know the full specs of a gf104 right? right.
A full 384 sp gf114 should beat a 6870. if it does not I garauntee they will adjust the clocks to do so.
The Nvidia road map leaked a few weeks back showed the gf114 chip in January. OK, theres your gtx560. What else could it be? Thats the easy one.
OK now, as far back as I can remember Nvidia takes there mid range chip and disables a working cluster, in this case it would give you a 336 sp gts550 right? The same thing as a gtx460. Now take the stock clocked gtx460 and overclock it say 100 on the core (we all know thats a given),and you have you gts550 that will beat a 6850 in every benchmark.
OR they could just rebrand the gtx460 with higher clocks and cll it a gts550
Here is the question. Can you see Nvidia doing there mid -range any other way or is this a fairly certain assessment?
I eagerly await your answer.
