Do we even have concrete news on the 560 yet?

I'll give you the news.

The gtx560 be a gf114 chip (refeshed full gf104) with 384 sp's, clocked high enough to beat a 6870. It should release next month,(this I'm not sure about the exact date)

I'm so confident, I have paypal to back it up

The gtx550 will be a gf114 (gtx560) with one cluster disabled (gtx460 refresh) and clocked high enough to beat the 6850. Or mabe just a gtx460 rebage with higher clocks. Either way it beats a 6850.

I have paypal for this one too.

Those are reasonable guesses, but has Nvidia actually released any data? Heck have they even said that a 560 exists? (I hope so)

The 460 and 450 overclock well, and since the 6850 and 6870 have been out for a while now, I'd be surprised if the 560/550 didn't turn out faster than the 6850/6870. They know precisely what they are up against. I'm not sure if they are going to use 2 versions of the 560 to combat the 6850/6870, or change the 128 Bit memory on the 450 to 256 bit on the 550 which is what will be required to go against the 6850. Only time will tell.

Don't know about the others.

The 450 has a 128 bit memory interface, so Nvidia is going to have to change that on the 550 to compete with the 6850. They may very well do that, but only time will tell.

put up or shut up

What is wrong with his question? You just cannot pull some number numbers from your ass and call them news. There should be some kind of source to back it up.. this is a technical forum for god's sake.

This kind of attitude is uncalled for, and you are old enough to know that.

You really have reading comprehension problems, don't you.

I pretty much just said that, but I used English.

I don't mean to derail here, tincart, but it does appear you've locked onto a stalking victim. You accuse someone of not learning from his/her past, yet neither do you. You were berated for your lackluster respect for your fellow forum members a short while ago, and it seems that has done nothing to teach you anything. So, you have a lot in common with those of whom you accuse.

Back off.

I am pointing out clear inconsistencies. Could you kindly explain what is wrong with that?

Berated? I got a ridiculous warning from some admin.

Well I suspect some of us are more grown up than that.

Its a public poll . I can sift through the numbers and see who the $ssholes are.

you're being awfully sensitive for someboy who is contantly putting himself in the firing line. just roll with it, it's all in fun unless you're an nv or amd shareholder anyway.

Its funny how quiet this forum is? No one dares to speculate? Guess, nothing?
Just attack the messenger and topic, and grammar?

Knowone challenges my original post?

everybody is on eggshells b/c so many people looked stupid after the rampant speculation leading up to 68x0. in past years I would have been strongly inclined to say that this sort of leak this close to launch was quite probably accurate. now, however, I will only say that I think that fud's source THINKS it is accurate, but amd's cloak and daggar program makes it impossible to know if his source was correct (that's assuming that he even had a source of course). also, since charlie is typically more pro amd and fud is typically more pro-nvidia I usually look at both of them with an EXTRA grain of salt unless they are going against their typical reporting pattern: ie, if charlie says "gtx 580 kicks a$$" he probably didn't make it up, ditto with fud on pro-amd stories. since this is a fud mildly anti-amd story it is even less believable, further convincing me (and, presumably, others) to wait a few days and see what happens.

Of course, as I've been saying for weeks, no news is bad news if the nda arrives and we get more delays. in fact, no news would be terrible news for amd since they're just trying to paper/soft/dell launch now anyways to keep some fence-sitters on ice until after xmas.

Oh, and your speculation about potential upcoming cards that nobody has ever heard of is ridiculous. if you have a reputable source like keys or another FG member then I'll believe it, but if you just looked at their lineup and thought "hmmm, a gtx 550 seems like a cool idea" then you should have left that card out. in fact, for the past several gens they've only had 2-3 gtx cards. I don't remember the last time they had 4 gtx cards in the same family (8xx, 7xx, 6xx, etc), so if anything it seems likely that a hypothetical gtx 550 would actually be a gt 550, wouldn't you think?

what is.............ah never mind its not worth it, if you have no input kindly leave my thread, thank you.

ooooookay. so you don't have any sources at all. why not just say "this is my opinion and this is why I believe that" instead of "put up or shut up"? I think that your opinion is mostly sound in this case btw, you don't need "fightin' words" and derailment of your own thread to back it up. I don't understand; you had to know that this thread was going to cause some controversy, yet you strangely act very surprised/shocked/angry when it happens. Did you think that the red team and even interested independents wouldn't call you out on some of this?

@tincart: don't you think that happy wanted to get a couple red teamers banned? you just fell right into his trap. better change that post quickly or one of the senior mods/admins will come in with the whoopin' stick.

of course you don't. maybe you should add SA to your rss feed, then you'll get BS propaganda from both camps.

@outrage: nobody is talking about 6930 b/c it hasn't been announced. nobody other than happy is talking about a potential nvidia 550 type card b/c it has likewise not been announced. both will probably come out some time in the next 3-6 months, however.

Again, has either the 560 or the 6930 been officially announced yet?

I am absolutely not a red teamer. In terms of product preference, I buy whatever offers me the best deal which, in the most recent case was a GTX 460 1GB. To be honest, I ran a hardware site back in the day and I found ATi to be an utter terror to deal with for getting review hardware... They patronized us by sending us t-shirts instead of video cards while 3dfx was shoveling over review units. This was years ago and I don't know how they are now. Either way, I don't exactly have fond memories.

I will argue vociferously against anyone who makes misleading or disingenuous posts. The fact that the current people are pro-nVidia doesn't mean I am on the other side of the fence.

In fact, there is no fence.

Dude the 560 will be out next month, FEB at the latest. The 6930 or gtx565 are made of gtx570's and 6950's that didnt cut the mustard, so they need to stockpile some defective chips to sell them. I think they need 30,000 defective chips to sell before release.
