Its funny how quiet this forum is? No one dares to speculate? Guess, nothing?
Just attack the messenger and topic, and grammar?
Knowone challenges my original post?
everybody is on eggshells b/c so many people looked stupid after the rampant speculation leading up to 68x0. in past years I would have been strongly inclined to say that this sort of leak this close to launch was quite probably accurate. now, however, I will only say that I think that fud's source THINKS it is accurate, but amd's cloak and daggar program makes it impossible to know if his source was correct (that's assuming that he even had a source of course). also, since charlie is typically more pro amd and fud is typically more pro-nvidia I usually look at both of them with an EXTRA grain of salt unless they are going against their typical reporting pattern: ie, if charlie says "gtx 580 kicks a$$" he probably didn't make it up, ditto with fud on pro-amd stories. since this is a fud mildly anti-amd story it is even less believable, further convincing me (and, presumably, others) to wait a few days and see what happens.
Of course, as I've been saying for weeks, no news is bad news if the nda arrives and we get more delays. in fact, no news would be terrible news for amd since they're just trying to paper/soft/dell launch now anyways to keep some fence-sitters on ice until after xmas.
Oh, and your speculation about potential upcoming cards that nobody has ever heard of is ridiculous. if you have a reputable source like keys or another FG member then I'll believe it, but if you just looked at their lineup and thought "hmmm, a gtx 550 seems like a cool idea" then you should have left that card out. in fact, for the past several gens they've only had 2-3 gtx cards. I don't remember the last time they had 4 gtx cards in the same family (8xx, 7xx, 6xx, etc), so if anything it seems likely that a hypothetical gtx 550 would actually be a gt
550, wouldn't you think?
