It is hilarious how moonie acts like he’s so enlightened. Why should he need to change. Everyone one needs to make sacrifices for him to stroke his metal penis. He’s the one that needs to look in the mirror. While he isn’t a full RWNJ, he really does their playbook to a T.

Look, nobody needs to change. It's barely an option. You and I post on the same forum. Some of your views I agree with and some I do not. Some of the views you hold that I don't agree with I challenge by offering a different perspective, mine. I'm not out to beat you down for what you believe, but to provide a shock to the way you see things. I believe your viewpoint can bring you misery. You may like that state but I thing there is something better. Insult me as you will. Some of my pride, I think, got lost in a ship wreak.

Again, I am for sensible gun laws. The debate is about what gun laws makes sense. And in addition go gun laws there is the question of what came first, guns or trigger fingers.

Outside a cavity search, what else did you want them to do? Pretty clear the boy stashed it elsewhere. So no, Taj didn’t post an indisputable fact.
Pretty clear that when you are told a child has a gun you don't find you indisputably don't let the matter slide with a cursory search. You take that kid aside and find out what is going on and where or whether their really is a gun. Get real.

does standard hearing protection not offer adequate reduction to prevent hearing damage?

I would offer that the rationale that it’s necessity for shooting at the range is 100% feels based in an attempt to ignore why they’re considered a ban worthy item in the first place
Shrug, I'll take a little extra hearing protection. It's not like suppressors as it stands are a problem of any significance compared to all the dramatic problems with firearms in this country.

An Utah man killed his wife, their five children and his elderly mother-in-law before taking his own life weeks after his wife had filed for divorce.

After the incident, his wife’s family put out a statement about how this would never have happened, and future incidents happening if only there had been "protective arms " in the house. Lol! wtf?!?!

“Protective arms were purposely removed from the home prior to the incident because all adults were properly trained to protect human life.”

Huh?

If that's not the most fucked up part of this story - Here's the Obituary for Michael Haight, the man who murdered his wife, mother-in-law, and five kids before turning the gun on himself;

"Michael made it a point to spend quality time with each and every one of his children. Michael enjoyed making memories with the family. He spent many evenings and Saturdays coaching the children’s city league sporting teams, attending the children’s concerts at school, going on side-by-side rides, doing home-improvement projects, sledding and much more.
Michael lived a life of service. Whether it was serving in the church or in the community, he was willing to help with whatever was needed."

And ... No mention of the victims. Really! .... Aliens?. please take me from this planet.

kinda sad for you rn, you’ve digressed from rambling posts too long to read most of the time to basically just calling others stupid because your humanity has you emotionally committed to killing machines
You don’t really think about what you read. I called you stupid and explained I did so to match the stupidity of your childish pronouncements about me. Easy peezy.

so we aren’t really working off numbers here then.

I would have to to go look for numbers regarding silencers specifically in both NRR and crime statistics and see what they say.

lots of states where they are legal, so there’s some choice in where you locate

edit: So, nobody (that I've seen, may have missed a post at some point) has provided any data to facilitate a change in my stance on noise suppressors. So off to DDG I go, and it looks like it's harder to find any information regarding this than I expected. Here's a couple links that I've found that may help regarding NRR and recommendations.

TheVrolok: I would agree with you here. I think it's better to use both (never argued otherwise double hearing protection + noise suppressor), but need more data to confirm. Months ago, I said that I didn't see any real need for them outside of crime, and stance that even this information provided doesn't change (as of yet) mainly due to the NRR of noise suppressors being very difficult to determine.

In the hearing review site, they mentioned that people involved in shooting can be reluctant to wear hearing protection, which does not surprise me in the least. My concern here would be people viewing a noise suppressor as adequate and doing away with other hearing protection because they think they're safe.

This led me to other questions, such as: do people not wear double ear protection already? It's been the recommendation for a long time.

I haven't found any crime stat's at this time, which means it's probably negligible as you indicated.

As I indicated above, if you are unhappy with the rules of your state....why not move? There's 42 states to pick from!

For myself / anecdote, I live in MA and have a LTC. I've been reluctant to purchase a firearm while my kids are young, but do read up on them from time to time especially my states laws a few times per year. The technology piece has also always interested me. I personally hold no stake in this game (outside of being a USA citizen like you guys) and have no emotional attachment to firearms. I support the 2A and do not think we should ban all weapons across the board. I have fired weapons at a range many times (in my young life), and hope to again someday. I consider myself an objective observer.

If you'd like to share crimes stat's, I'll look at them.

Ok MB, your choice when faced with your own humanity it to call others names. Again, not a me problem.
No, my choice when faced with the alternate universe you want to see me as belonging in is to make up one for you to show you how absurd that is. What you do is easy to mimic, but when I do it the absurdity of it suddenly becomes crystal clear to you.

Sure MB, you’re the enlightened one, no longer are you subject to the emotions of humanity

I don't know if anyone watches On Patrol Live (used to be Live PD) but last night it opened with an incident with neighbors saying they saw a toddler walking around with a gun in the complex. They checked out the apartment and the owner said they didn't own a gun or anything and the cops didn't find it so they left. As they left they were talking to the people who called it in again and they were positive it was a real gun they saw him with, description and all.

As they did that, someone came up to them with a Ring doorbell camera video of the toddler with the gun. And it sure as shit was a real gun.

So they went back into the apartment then ended up finding a gun hidden that clearly wasn't put there by the kid, so the dad was clearly lying.

They then showed the raw video of the kid holding the gun. It's a bit disturbing seeing this kid in diapers with a gun, pointing it all around, even at himself at a point, and even pulls the trigger multiple times. The gun was loaded with a full magazine but had no bullets in the chamber thankfully. Also thankfully it wasn't like my buddies gun that will chamber one automatically if you pull the trigger once and it doesn't have one chambered, because this kid clearly pulled the trigger multiple times. You can see it clearly on the video.

The guys back in the studio started talking about the incident this thread is about as well, and then the other cop said there have been 2 incidents this year in his department where kids this young have been involved with guns, and one of them resulted in a 3 year old dying.

Literally toddlers are shooting themselves and being killed by guns.

We have a HUGE gun problem in this country.

EDIT:

Here you go.

I'm not sure what your argument is here. That because there was an authorization leader in the Philippines then we shouldn't have laws about things?

No we should have laws and should enforce sensible penalties consistently when crimes are committed.

And also harsh punishments are not effective criminal deterrents.

Feeling is what makes life real. That thing you wish to refer to as my human emotions is something I have been trying to suggest to you can undergo a fundamental transformation via whatever methodology equates to a process of psychoanalysis. That, as I see it, is actually becoming aware of what we have been conditioned to suppress but affect us unconsciously and negatively anyway.

All you are trying to do is to make me acknowledge that I am sick like you are. But the problem is that you don't realize you are doing that because you don't want to admit to yourself what you are trying to make me admit.

You don't want to admit to shame and guilt, to weakness and emotional needs, to the loss you feel having been subjected to the childhood loss of the joy of being.

You are of a type that would refuse a pot of gold if you can't assure yourself first that the gift bearer isn't already rich beyond your wildest dreams.

All of that is pointless. If I know anything about you it's because I know it about me. Awareness is the difference between knowing and projecting.

In the sea there are riches beyond compare, but if you seek safety it is on the shore. A Sufi saying.
