Normal H2 holidays season with your black fridays and Christmas and stuff. Then specify the exact holiday launch date which everything indicated as H2 will be released on.

Make up your mind.Depends on the segment.
But usually near holidays so think late september to mid november launch windows.
do you understand what holidays launch meansPreviously you said:

So far it’s anything from late September until Christmas. I.e. AMD knows of no specific launch date for NVL-S, and no more specific than anyone of us can guesstimate from H2.
Ah yes Christmas in mid Novemberdo you understand what holidays launch means
Yup, it's September to Early November launch so you can stuff the channel in preparation of holidays spending.Isn't it normal to release a few months before holidays, so that you can actually find stuff in stores in December?
Launch as in paper launch?Yup, it's September to Early November launch so you can stuff the channel in preparation of holidays spending.
If there aren't almost any ALUs in there, then N6 should be fine if the IOD is low clocked. Not sure but High Yield assume Venice IOD is still based on N6
Uh, not really, AMD fabric clocks are pretty high plus you want sIOD on a fresher node for power reasons alone.then N6 should be fine if the IOD is low clocked
You think n4, then?Uh, not really, AMD fabric clocks are pretty high plus you want sIOD on a fresher node for power reasons alone.
In other words - end of the yearNormal H2 holidays season with your black fridays and Christmas and stuff.
Seems like AMD is likely to fill up the high margin markets to saturation prior to selling a single chip to Dell and a sliver of a profit margin.
Yeah.
idk.Does anyone care to guesstimate how much lower the number of Zen6 DT CPUs sold will be due to the DRAM/etc shortage in 2026/2027?
PCs are down modest number (5%-ish YoY).E.g. 30%, 50%, … lower than originally planned?
DIY maybe more? But it's a drop-in upgrade for existing platforms.
Far too low number I think. The full pain is yet to be seen in actual sales numbers.PCs are down modest number (5%-ish YoY).
DIY maybe more? But it's a drop-in upgrade for existing platforms.
Why would that be bad? AMD is like 90% of DIY. Why is most buyers already being on the platform and buying CPUs to upgrade something less than ideal? While this is true, what % of Zen 6 buyers are we expecting to be pre-existing AM5 owners vs how many would be first time builds, or upgrades from non-AM5 systems?
I'd imagine if the majority of Zen 6 buyers are already AM5 owners, that'd be less than ideal for AMD
A lot. While this is true, what % of Zen 6 buyers are we expecting to be pre-existing AM5 owners
y tho.that'd be less than ideal for AMD
those are full-year unit guides.Far too low number I think. The full pain is yet to be seen in actual sales numbers.
Uh, no, AMD (AM5) rules teh DIY with an iron fist.Drop-in upgrades to Zen6 will be low in the context of share of total number of CPUs sold.
oh manMost do not think it’s worth upgrading CPU only, if they have one that is only one or two generations old.
