So if your cooler has its own back plate it not compatible out of the box. We have to wait to get a bracket from the manufacturer? Only coolers that use the mobo backplate are compatible out the box. According to Der8aur. Also saw this video so i may hold of on my 5900x build.

13 minute mark

Received my Corsair 7000 Airflow front panel today. Going to decide if I want the glass that came with my 7000X or the airflow.

Tomorrow is the day. Let's see if I get a 7950X.
Me too. Less than 9 hours to go. Lets hope there is a big supply.

Can someone please crank up their DDR5 memory frequency tomorrow. I want to know if there are memory divider issues that would prevent 7000mhz or more on Zen4.

Go home MSI, you're drunk- $330 plus tax for the lowest end X670E. Nearly £/€400 for the same including tax for UK/EU folks.
This first batch is for users like Adam and Mark that aren't price sensitive.

There is also the argument to be made that buying a high quality, well appointed board now, will pay for itself over the life of the platform. If you drop Zen 6 3D or whatever in it 3-4 yrs from now, you could be gaming on that board for a total of 7-8yrs easy. That averages out pretty cheap for such longevity.

AM5 support is for 2025+, with no clarity on what the plus stands for. So the maximum upgrade you can expect is Zen5 X3D.

No, Adam has always been an Intel guy. I think Zen 4 converted him. He has (or recently had, its in his sig) a 12900KS.
Hasn't always been Intel. Found this thread from 2010. Have bought many CPUs since then. All Intel though.

I just got 2 7950x at newegg !!!

Edit: And a Taichi motherboard

Edit2: Just to recap, I have a artic 420 AIO,
a Hynix P41 1TB nvme drive
DDR5 6000 64 gig c32 OR 6600 c34 32 gig
1300 watt EVGA PSU
2 x 3090TI EVGA FTW3
Fractal 5 case

Don't know what to do with the 7950x, except maybe a friend might need one if they are in tight supply. My hand was refreshing Amazon, newegg and AMD since 5:30 this am. Newegg was first at 6 am on the dot.

Edit3: Not sure on the Taichi, but I wanted a motherboard fast, and the 24+2+1 supply sounded better than the ASUS 16+1 VRM's

Ordered my parts online, tomorrow I will have my build up, waiting only for the board and CPU now.

MSI MPG X670E Carbon
DDR5 6000CL30 G.Skill Trident Z5 [2 x 32 GB]
R9 7950X
980 Pro [waiting for the Gen 5 SSDs and few 990 Pros for RAID ]
280mm AIO Corsair H115i RGB Elite [Will thermally limit this chip, so this one should be fine]
1KW RM1000 Corsair Modular PSU 80+ Gold
No GPU this time, finally / Not sure if IOD can drive 3 displays but lets see.

Using same ATX chassis from 2018. Will retire my 1700X and 3400G tomorrow.
Will keep only 7950X, 5950X & 3900X.

Mini ITX board doesn’t drop for 3 more days.

Going to wait a bit longer. Hopefully AMD doesn’t have the stock issues they had for Zen 3.

EDIT: 64gb kits are limited in terms of speed as well.

DDR5 6000 cl32 isn't too limited.

@AdamK47 You need to add a comment, no "just pictures" in the tech section.

As for my builds, I decided that my second build will be high end air cooled, and downvolted. I may run ECO mode on both, we will have to see how things workout.
