YAGT: Where has all the ammo gone?

IIRC, wasn't it Mythbusters that did an episode with ammo in an oven, and they concluded that ammo was unlikely to even penetrate the glass window?

I won't go out of my way to leave ammo in areas where it could hurt someone if there was a fire, but I do feel a lot better knowing that even a single wall of sheet rock will stop the shrapnel.

say again?

Anyone who shoots .22LR should have a few thousand rounds squirreled away.

This was from several days ago when you got another order of several thousand .22 LR

I just got an email from Target sports USA. They dont have much 5.56 except for Federal Lake City.

Is anyone familiar with that brand?

I'm not sure how you're unfamiliar with Federal, they are one of the big dogs.

Federal/Lake City and PMC XTac LAP are my preferred 5.56 sources.

Nothing like punching a single $.25 quarter size hole with 30 rds of .22 from a bench with no rest and with iron sights while sighting in for 50/225 zero.

Conspiracy theorist in me says they're doing it to limit what's available since that's all they can legally do.

Found all of it in a small hardware store that is a broadband customer of mine. Got all of that for $200 cash. Cleaned them out though too.

My 1500 rounds of PMC .308 arrived, along with 1000 rounds of Winchester M22 and 100 rounds of 62-grain .223.

Locally I picked up 350 rounds of .45ACP and another 525-round brick of Remington Golden Bullet.

The PMC stuff is NICE. I hope it shoots as nice as it looks. There is a perfection and consistency to each round that none of my Magtech CBC or other NATO M80 ball exhibits. It looks like match ammo, I hope it shoots good.
