I just want to get some more 54r... I miss the days of ~$135-150 shipped crates of 2x440rd spam cans. Best i've seen lately is $200 +shipping per crate and even then, they gouge for over $50 on shipping.

Add to that, you see a decent sale for $180-200 shipped crates and they disappear in mere minutes, only to be listed on gunbroker/craigslist/etc as soon as the sale goes online. I see the deal posted on slickguns or similar, then minutes later you start to see the craigslist or gunbroker ads being posted as people snap up and order.

I got 10 crates at $157 per crate shipped back in the middle of March. I'm pretty sure we'll see those available again shortly. Commbloc countries still have warehouses full of crates collecting dust.

A question for the knowledgeable people in this thread since I know little to nothing about guns. I recently picked up 7 of these at a garage sale, all still sealed in plastic:

I wanted to sell them on eBay but found out that eBay doesn't allow the sale of any mags over 10 rounds. My plan now is to sell them to a local gun shop or range but I have no idea of their value. What would be a fair price for them?

Note: I have absolutely no intent to sell these through AT so please don't ask.

Well buying them new online they seem to be listed for $50+:

I suppose you could try asking that much for them, might net a sucker or two. IMO you'll probably be doing well though to get $25-30 each for them.

Gunbroker is the site you're looking for. (similar to e-bay, but for guns)

I haven't bought a single round since the prices shot up. I refuse to pay panic price so I just waste less.

Same here. Gunbroker has 1000 rds of 5.56 in the 550 range and ZERO bids for a bunch of listings...16 pages at 50 per page (9mm Luger is worse).

They're still trying to rip people off and it's just not moving like it was. The hoarders must be running out of room to store it all.

Resellers and pickers are a plague.

Individuals can't trade with each other directly any more via eBay, craigslist, swap meets, etc because its all been taken over by pickers and resellers who forcibly enter themselves in between as middlemen by camping and squating everything.

Yeah, I'm waiting and hoping patiently.

Yeah, we're seeing the grabbers dropping prices and trying to unload excess. Hopefully it'll calm down and things will revert to a more "normal" state soon. I don't want much, maybe some decent 22LR, 9MM and some 56r again so I can go shoot.

Much thanks for the info.

if he knew what he was doing to begin with, but he's here asking what a fair price is...
I don't know much about guns but I do know a good bargain when I see one. The information available online concerning their value was scant so I turned to AT where I knew I could get a reliable answer.

Gunbot.net Just keep watching it and eventually some will pop up. $.50 for 9mm is ridiculous.

west coast armory, in seattle, is selling cases of ammo now. I picked up a few hundred rounds of 9mm for shooting last week. unfortunately it is still $17 per box of 50.

I shot through about 400 rounds of .223, 200 rounds of .22LR, and another 250 rounds of 9mm last weekend.

Don't worrry...ammo stocks will return. There was just a lot of gun panic padded by the usual Christmas/Post-Christmas demand. Things will likely get better by next Fall if not next Spring/Summer as long as there aren't anymore idiots pushing the government to ban stuff.

Sadly I haven't shot much since Sandy Hook since the scare made everyone run on ammo and I don't want to even put a dent into my stash.

I guess I'll sit pretty at 20+ rifles and a few crates of ammo :)

I think the shortage is about to become bobs overstocked basement super sale.

So I'm still waiting it out. I want ammo for plinking meanwhile george the redneck has like 15,000 rounds hidden in the floor.

I haven't been able to go to the range for awhile now because of the ammo prices I refuse to pay 200-500% markups.

Went to the range this morning. Nice to see they haven't jacked their reload prices. 45 was $20 for 50 rounds, 38 special was $17 for 50 rounds. Not super cheap but not jacked up. I think these are the same prices they had last summer. Plenty of scary black rifles on the shelf too.

I want to get into reloading but people just keep grabbing everything the instant it becomes available. Bullets, powder, primers still all gone gone gone.
