Anyone have experience with Yankee Hill Machine suppressors? I've got the NFA itch, and I want a single can to cover my rifles - as far as I know, the YHM 30 caliber titanium QD can works with all their QD attachments, and so it would work with my AR and my M1A.

I guess what I'm wondering is - can anyone speak to how friendly their customer service is? Are they thorough? Are they well built? How do they stack against AAC, Gemtech and Surefire?

Personally, Surefire seems insanely overpriced, and they JUST changed their mounts. AAC seems anything but professional, and a friend's dealings with them were less than inspiring.

Finally, my EBR (evil black rifle):
Overmolded grip added (feels AWESOME)
ACOG, TA31RCO-M150 (the Army version, red chevron, with left and right tick marks for calling out targets) added and zeroed at 25, need to zero at 100 now.

Even with the ACOG on it, this gun is INSANELY light.

Still needed: ambi swivel mount on the buffer tube for a sling
TLR2 flashlight
Suppressor and QD flash hider for it

YHM is pretty solid, on par with AAC. Surefire is expensive, it's a combo of the size, quieting, and very small zero shift. It does cost more but you get more too. Whether what you get is enough to justify the expense is another question entirely.

I'd say the YHM would satisfy your needs just fine.

Anybody here have a C&R? I'm thinking about doing the paperwork just to have it and wanted to see what experience people here have

I never went through with it cuz I found an FFL that did transfers for vets for free. Have two mausers, an enfield 303, and m1.

That is why I originally never went through with it. I used to have a dealer (multiple actually) that did $5 transfers. But now that I'm away for school I don't have that luxury. The cheapers FFL in my area wants $30 for a transfer, which means I'll save enough with 1 C&R purchase to make up the cost. :hmm:

I got my C&R. It was really easy and cheap to do. I recommend it if you are even slightly interested in buying more C&R guns.

Seconded. I got it just to get it...the turn around time was less than the 30 days it took my CCW to process, which was pretty impressive.

Bought a Remington 870 12ga last week to shoot trap with, picking it up on Saturday (10 day CA wait + 1 day for Big5 stupidity).

I'm going to look around some. No one near me has this can in stock, but I know Wade's does the paperwork for creating a trust for the suppressor. Going to also check Rainier arms and West Coast Armory, see if they can get them in and for what price...else I'll just do it online and have it sent here (need to find out what that procedure is, though.)

Where ever you do find it let me know. Im still leaning towards the AAC SDN-6 but thatll change a few times im sure

Wades USED to allow .50 BMG...but only if the range was empty. Too loud otherwise. Now a .308win going off sounds like a 50BMG firing, pretty much...and 308Win is the max caliber. They tried to keep my from taking my .30-06 Garand and 1903 in...had to reason with them that it was shooting the same bullet and are WWII era pressures no less (had the boxes marked as being meant for the Garand no less.)

Well to be fair 30-06 is a few hundred fps faster....but really same bullet and all that should be making a huge difference.

Where in WA are you again? What range do you go to?

Kitsap area. Right now either head over to Bulleyes if its first thing in the morning and just want pistols, or head ot Federal Way Discount Funs if we are looking at guns/ammo/whatever and want to shoot. Otherwise its usually just head up into the wood. Though dad is getting a memebership at the Poulsbo Sportmans Range which has a range out to 200 yard (but is outdoor). Really i just go where ever and it depends with who. Like if i go with brother it usually to wades since he lives in Seattle.

I have one. What are you looking for exactly?

you can also get discounts with several places, like brownells and midway usa

Looking to get it for a few reasons. 1) There are a few C&R guns I'd like to acquire, 2) Discounts are always a good thing, especially since I already reload.

So it looks like the general consensus is that its worth it.

Do you guys think i should I pay the extra money for the MOE version of the 15-22?

From a shooting perspective, on a .22 most of the differences aren't going to matter. Magpul sights would likely be superior, but I haven't heard anything bad about the stock sights. Given that it includes a flash suppressor, it might be worth it to get a decent deal on accessories you could transfer to a full AR-15 should you buy one. Then you could transfer the stock/presumably inferior stuff from the full AR to the 15-22 for plinking.

RIA just came out with a 10mm 1911. MSRP is $701.00. Cheaper Than Dirt got the first shipment. They are selling them for $599 - http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/GUN-51918

Be curious to see some reviews on it especially with hotter loads. 10mm has become my favorite round for pistols. So much fun to shoot and can go with anything from heavy bullets to light bullets and tons of variety in powder charges. Know a guy selling a SW 1006 and been tempted to buy it

Thanks man. How do you guys like the SIG 522?

I love mine. But its not an AR style either...its based on the sig 556. So aftermarket parts like magpul stuff doesnt work on it (handguard, grips, wise i mean) But it takes standard AR15-22 mags and it shoots everything ive put through it.

Id go either the 15-22 or the 522 to be honest. Which ever i could find cheaper. Both are great guns for the money and will perform well.

Based on my experience with the MOE grip/trigger guard combination, if I ever buy another AR, it will also have those Magpul parts, especially the trigger guard. Much, much better feel compared to stock parts when moving around, holding and manipulating the rifle in various ways. The stock trigger guard was physically painful when holding the rifle up with one hand, the Magpul part is not. Ergonomics are personal, though, and someone who strictly shoots stationary in range conditions might not notice the difference.

So yes, I'd absolutely pay the extra money. Don't take this as a vote for the 15-22 itself, I'm not familiar with it.

Just got my LTCF today. 30 minutes for the whole ordeal including the 2-block walk from and to parking to get processed and three guys ahead of me getting their permits. It's a sobering experience even though I don't have a holster yet, responsibility magnifies a hundred-fold just having the paperwork.

Wow, that's a sweet 10mm 1911, and I generally only like those in the original .45ACP. The only other firearm that interests me in that caliber is the G29 (yes, I'm admitting I might get ONE Glock)...just to shoot something that'll potentially break my wrist (and not the bank, otherwise it would be a Desert Eagle). :p

Yes, I have one. Made pretty good use of it as I mostly buy battle/war rifles and not black plastic toys ;).

I still get any non C&R rifle transferred free since my Bro in law is an FFL, but it's nice to have the C&Rs delivered to my door!

I've fired the 10mm G29...it's not going to break any wrists. :)

What was sobering ... the application process? The PA LTCF is probably the easiest to get in the entire country, shall issue and with no requirement for a carry course, and mail-in approval.

But what ammo did you shoot through it? Most factory stuff is loaded light. Double tap and Underwood are the two most common ones loaded more to 10mm specs.

I'm itching to pickup that ria 10mm now...dang it
