But if the government won't let you be a state, god just calls up on the hot line and says the whole polygamy thing was a mistake.

Same with blacks not being allowed to hold official positions in the church until after the Civil Rights movement.

So if god just bows down to whatever popular opinion is, why don't we all have houses full of bi-sexual super models that love to cook, give massages, and swallow?

In all seriousness, the original religious rules were put in place to make a lot of workers, and warriors. Fucking a lot, and making lots of kids furthered that goal, and made some kind of sense at the time. Mormonism is the 19th century version of Scientology. It's just a scam to enrich one person, and for some reason, it took off.
