I hope Randall fails in whatever it is that Trump wanted him to do. I was both a Randall and Rebecca fan and when I heard what Randall had to say about hiring Rebecca, any respect I had for him went right down the toilet.

What an ass.

funny thing is, the reason i'm most upset with randall is, about half way thru the show tonite, around 10:00 pm, i turned to my wife and said "Trump is going to hire both of them".

randall fvcked it up. :(

I kept having that feeling also. I hope we hear about DT hiring Rebecca soon and I hope she brings Randall down! LOL

That was tacky of Randal IMO. Rebecca must want to slit his throat.

Do you think that Trump would have given her the job?

yes, why else would he have asked?

I don't know... "The Donald" has been a little emotionally unstable this season. Randal might have been worried that he'd say "OK, I changed my mind, and I'm hiring her instead!" if he started sticking up for her.

Wow. I do think that both should've been hired and Randall might get some ****** for what he said at the end. However, it is a good point that Trump could've changed his mind, but I highly doubt he would've rescinded because it would've been terrible for him.

To be successful in business you need to be ruthless. In this situation Randal did the right thing by eliminating his competition. Anyone with any will to compete would have done the same. There can only be one winner. Just like Trump said, it's a business, not entertainment.

The thing is, she was no longer competition. She was a strong potential employee who might have benefitted the organization.

From a business perspective, why lose someone that is such a great asset as Rebecca? Randall had already won. I just wouldn't let all that go to waste.

Personally, I would have liked the ending better if Trump wouldn't have hired either of them! It wouldn't have been too hard to make it believable, too... Just re-edit some of the footage to make both of the screwups on the final project look bigger than they did here. Then, all Trump would do say is something like this:

"Rebecca, you did a comedy show for a CHARITY, and didn't get ANY donations! How lame is that? And, Randal, your auction was horrible! You should have had a plan B ready for the weather, and your last minute hack job recovery was pathetic. Frankly, I can't see hiring either of you after a major screwup like this. You're both fired!"

The audience boos, and no one goes home happy. It would have been the most shocking season finale EVER!

Fact of the matter was imagine how much resources were put into the interview process. Clearly Randall and Rebecca are valuable and doing that would be so stupid. Thats simply entertainment, not business.

That's assuming that the Apprentice winner does any real work for Trump once they get hired. From that I've heard, the winners are used for more for publicity stunts than anything else once they become "president" of the Donald's companies.

Besides, by firing both of them, he saves 250 grand by not having to pay either of them a salary :)

the only job rebecca should get is under donald's desk...

she was clearly the weaker of the 2 candidates, and keeps mentioning her poor broken foot. that's all I hear from her everytime she was in the board room.

Randal didn't do so hot either, but his track record proved that he can do the job.

Randal also did the right thing by not allowing another apprentice, but he probably should've offered her a job himself, she could work well under him.

did martha's apprentice get cancelled?

I liked and respected Randall until tonight. What a jerk of a person and idiot of a businessman.

It was obvious that Trump wanted to hire both of them tonight. He'd done the multiple firings for the first time and probably thought a multiple hiring would be an interesting move as well. You could see that he was glad that they picked different projects and he had offered them the choice early in the hopes that it would turn out that way. He probably thought that it would be best to hire one so that he wouldn't be criticized by some for copping out on the big decision, and then when he offered the chance for the winner to make the decision to hire the other one as well, their magnanimous gesture of giving an opportunity to their former competitor would be applauded by all and end the season on a great note.

Unfortunately, he was as fooled by Randall's nice guy persona as everyone else and you could tell that he was disappointed when Randall said no, it's all about me. Trump was almost nonplussed, he started to say something else and then just said, okay I'm just going to leave it at that.

The question is was he just disappointed in it not turning out the way he'd hoped, or was he thinking, what kind of an idiot have I just hired? It was just such a stupid thing to do from both a business and public relations perspective.

I can't wait to see what's said about it when they all appear on the Today Show.

Two people were fired at the same time in an earlier season, don't remember which one. This season an entire team of four was fired at the same time, then two were fired at the same time in two later board meetings. 4 fired, 2 fired, 2 fired this season.

In all fairness, the lack of donations put pressure on yahoo to donate 100 grand, which compared to randalls auction made it look like chump change. So in a round about way rebecca caused more to be donated. Although I believe randall was the stronger of the two and deserved the hiring. Not sure if I agree with the final decision he made though.

Yeah, it made Yahoo look pretty bad though. After they said in the board meeting that no money was donated as a result of the Yahoo event, I kept expecting at some point for someone to say that X amount of money was eventually collected from the Yahoo VIPs from those donation envelopes that were put in their goody bags. Since they never said anything about it, I guess we are to assume that not one of those people made a donation?

Man Randall layed the smackdown. Trump shouldnt have even asked. Only one person deserves the title of the Apprentice. There cant be "apprenti". I totally agree with what Randall did. That was awesome! She was not great anyway. Though he did kind of ruin the show. You know Trump was planning this from the beginning and was totally expecting Randall to say yes. That is what the big "surprise" was supposed to be. It was also made obvious at several points throughout the show that both were going to get hired.
