Who Else Thinks Anime is Crap?

Anyone who enjoys anime on a regular basis, and is over age 14, has issues.

That said, an occasional dose(like, once every few years) of very violent ninja-chops-your-head-off anime is acceptable.

I guess that includes most of Japan considering some of it airs in prime time there. I like some anime, I hate others. This poll is pretty ridiculous. It's like asking if people hate or like books, movies, or TV shows. It's way too general and all have bad and good examples. Most that say they hate it haven't seen much of it to begin with.

I don't watch cartoons anymore. I can watch a good animated film but that's it. I don't even like the Simpsons or any of that other cartoony crap on TV.

Im sure there is good anime, just like I'm sure theres a few good prime time TV shows, but I'm really not interested in it. I prefer interactive forms of entertainment.

While I agree that the op is dense, to put it kindly, I would argue that most people over 14 in Japan have issues 😉

A rant about OMG. I cannot freeging stand this series. Belldanday isn't a wife - she's a slave. I sat through the OVA's and I was just cringing all the way though 🙁

On the other hand, the movie completly kicks ass.

if you liked watching Transformers in the 80's you were watching an anime 😛

I like some animes because they do things in them that would be just to expensive and unfeasible in a live action setting. And when some of you say "I don't really like anime.....but I like pokemon" WOW.

Btw Cowboy Bebop is on at 1am on Cartoon Network. Watch if for the great music if nothing else.

We are allowed to like different things. I wanted to know who in ATOT doesn't like Anime and I have certainly found out and enjoyed this thread at the same time. I knew some people were going to get all worked up over nothing and sure enough...

I bet if I did a search a lot of the responders are the same ones to knock rap everytime the word is mentioned in a thread.

Also I just checked my nose and it's still the same length but if it grows you'll be the first to know! 🙂

original transformers is a bit iffy, drawn in japan, based on japanese line of toys, but developed for the united states, and the story was done marvel. so it's like a hybrid of sorts. heh.

An idiotic waste of a cartoon is definitely better than a show who's entire basis is groups of people stepping over each other and decieving each other.

Most TV does suck. Most of anything sucks.

Hmm, I'm just not too sure about "definately". Reality shows are utter garbage, yes, no one here is arguing that. I'm not even sure why we are talking about reality shows. But an idiotic waste of a cartoon is also garbage. You anime freaks are exactly like the people who build sandboxes in their living rooms and stick an umbrella in it and a beach chair for when they watch Surivor. No difference, and no don't kid yourselfs, anime is not in the least bit more intelligent than american tv shows. It is mindless entertainment, pure and simple.

And yes, I think I have seen enough anime to form an opinion, including Cowboy Bebop, Princess Mononoke, Wings of Honneamise, Iria, Evangelion, Akira, could go on and on and on.....

I've seen only a few animes I like so far (namely GITS and Akira).

I dislike and refuse to watch the anime that is sailor moon like with its animation--obscenely disproportioned bodies and faces with fish eyes, and parts where the character is still but the background moves.

But some anime is pretty artistic and good--I just don't find interest in seeing a tentacle come out and fvck a few japanese school girls in catholic school outfits.

A lot of it is, but you can't make a blanket statement like that about anime or American TV shows. Grave of the Fireflies, for example, couldn't be classified as "mindless entertainment".

I wouldn't say it's crap, some of the animation is pretty amazing... But I don't like anime as a whole.
