Anime porn is cool!
Originally posted by: DAGTANope. I've tried it several times with several different shows over the past five years and every time I sit in amazement wondering how people can like it. It seems like an uber-geek's wet dream. All the characters are horribly exaggerated. The leading women tend to all be super thin, huge breasts, and 'sassy'. The leading guys are all thin, muscular, and 'ultra cool'. The plots are as predictable as a Rocky movie.

what the heck did you watch? there's a heck lot out there that fall under what you describe, but there are quite a bit that aren't.
eg: gto, azumanga daioh, fruits basket, the kenshin ova (first one), etc.
....chibimarukochan rules! too bad it ended![]()

I haven't seen any of the ones you've listed and, if the opportunity presents itself, I'll give them a chance. However, I haven't anything about anime that I like at all, so far, so I really doubt any other anime show is going to change my mind.

hmm... i dunno what to say about tsukihime : i love the some of the BGM music and general quality of drawing, but as an original tsukihime fan you would know how many things fall out of place and deviate from the way they should have been. if you are new to tsukihime, the anime can be quite confusing at times; otherwise you may get offended by unfamiliar drawing style + the way they take a liberty in distroting some of the details (e.g. ciel with no curry, occurence of the 17-slice choppage, laughably weak presence of nero chaos, the list can go on and on). while it did act as a catalyst and eye-opener to the realm of this awesome game called tsukhime, the anime itself leaves a lot to be desired. it was quite entertaining, just that it could have been a hell a lot better. another thing kinda erks me is cheesy action; i am not big into action genre in general, yet i find some of the fight scenes with nero to be eyesores. i see how there is such passionate animosity towards it among the fans of the original game, but personally it didnt bother me much.
my favorite anime based on games : d.c. dacapo, kanon, kiminozo, yumeria, green green, nastuiro no sunadokei, aoi umi no tristia and comic party. to heart is well... too bland for my taste. white album would defnitely make a great anime however.
Daphne in the Brilliant blue ended just a few days ago... highly underrated anime imo, possibly the best from January 2004. dont get discouraged by deceptive costumes, its one of better shows from this year imo. other noteworthy shows from 2004 so far :
Interlude
Koi Kaze
Kyou Kara Maou
Love Love
Mezzo
Melody of Oblivion
Midori no Hibi
Samurai Champloo
Smash Hit
Pugyuru
Syura no Toki
This Beautiful and Ugly World
and yeah i am very biased and this is strictly my personal opinion. i must admit shows like madlax, monster and aishiteru ze baby are high quality stuff, just cant bring myself to like themStill trying to watch hanaukyo la verite, operation sanctuary and samurai 7.. there is another half dozen of shows starting sometime in july i might be interested in, but i am 100% certain nothing will come close to matching GA the 4th season
(coming on July 7th!)

They always work a giant robot into the mix somehow, then this robot fights some monster or other robot that is impervious to weapons, lasers, missles, etc. The first robot will then draw a giant SWORD and defeat the said robot/monster. WTF is that sword made of??? Why didn't them make the second sword outta that same stuff???
I DON'T GET ANIMAE!!!

just what are you talking about? the only series i watch that falls into that description would be eva. you are obviously missing the point, anime is just a style, like a movie; there are hunderds of different sub genre, and i dont watch any of that stuff you mentioned...
eh? i captured that screenie right from that episode where the two girls were at the Wonder Comic Bazar 21 where takamizawa tries to sell midori puppets... did you actually see that episode? No, this is what they are talking about. And yes, that girl is attached to the boy's hand.

Every animae show on Cartoon Network (they show them late at night) seems to involve some kind of giant robot----what's with that?
