And they are at least creative with it as well. Our porn is nothing but hot chics having sex. I've seen...

- Most of Trigun Series 1 (LOVE AND PEACE!)
- Akira
- Ghost in the Shell
- Some other stuff

And I really can't stand it. I tried, God help me, I tried, because most of my friends seem to really enjoy the stuff, but it just seems ridiculous. I particularly hated Akira, and not because it was 'too complicated for me' - I just really, really disliked it.

Somewhat ironically, based on the replies in this thread, the only anime-type thing I've ever enjoyed was the American dubbed version of Dragonball Z

I've only seen mainstream Anime, and I saw a few scenes from Akira 10+ years ago at my friends house. None of it has had any appeal to me whatsoever. Of what I've seen, which is admittedly not much, it always looks over-dramatic, and horribly animated. I think I've mostly seen DragonballZ on TV, like I used to have to watch it in the breakroom where I used to work. The style of animation is annoying to me, so assuming most Anime follows a similar animation trend, I don't think I could get into it based on that similarity alone.

And btw, to make the poll easier to swallow (hey, was that a funny?), just exclude the comments after the comma, and just look at it as a yes or no question.

I don't even know why, I just do. I'm not going to diss anyone for liking it, as you said, whatever floats their boat. I just hate it. I think it is because everyone I know personally who likes anime is a low-life loser douchebag. Plus, the style just annoys me. They look goofy, move weird and it's all just so cheesy.

anime are just cartoons. the smurfs, transformers, thundercats, etc played a certain role in bringing up kids who grew up with TV.

anime is just better cartoons, as american animation is horrendous. it's about as refined as american cars.

what i really hate is "reality" voyeuristic TV.

What is with this recurrent theme in this thread of equating anime haters to reality show watchers? I don't like reality shows either because they are nothing of the sort. I am just curious...
