The "impressive" thing about Crysis is that they make a PC-only FPS that required real hardware to run. Some have said that consoles don't hold developers back, but can you really imagine having to make a game like Battlefield 3 on the PC and as well as the original Xbox? The only thing that would be similar at that point is the story!

most people with common sense and a single gpu do not run the very highest level of AA in every game because it is not worth it.
Most people can't max out every game on a single GPU this is true.

with 670 sli could easily get 80 fps with the game fully maxed.
I never stated whether I agreed or disagreed with this but IMHO two 670s in SLI could most likely max out all the sliders and in game settings in Crysis plus have 8x (Sexysample*) turned on in the CP and still maintain IMO around 60fps consistently throughout the whole game but the only way to really be sure is to test it in real time and I don't have even one 670 let alone 2x the sexy beasts. LOL.

ENB GTAIV, SGSSAA Borderlands ENB, DOOM3 Sikkmod, Crysis CUDDAATs, Crysis Reallifesis,
BF3 Enb, Farcry 3, MaxPayne 3, MW3 SGSSAA, Modded Skyrim, Modded ME2

Modded Mass Effect 2? That's a stock image for Mass Effect 1. If there were improved graphic mods for Mass Effect 2 I'd love to try them.

Anyways, we're not going to see games in general move to Crysis levels of fidelity until the next console generation, sadly.

What's more sad than that is I fear these next gen consoles may be the last of their kind and in the future they'll be nothing more than streaming set top boxes connecting to an on-live like service. I hope I'm wrong.

E3 looked good this year. I loved that most demos used PCs because this is probably the last year of the current consoles and the game companies know it.

Halo 4 looked good, I hope it comes to the PC as well. I'm not buying a 360 for that.

Until Raytracing becomes the defacto standard of rendering we will not see true to life visuals on consoles or PC's. With GPUs becoming so much more powerful than what they once were, it could become a possiblity. Until that goes into effect every game eventually will look like it was made in 1999 relative to the current year.

Nice...the video confirms what I said to posters that were unimpressed with UE4 when the first screenshots were made public...the "Oh shiney factor" is annoying...but this videos use of ligthing is almost "Carmack'ish"...and looks capable of some large terrain.

Agreed, this demo blew me away. Seeing the plethora of effects combined (in-motion) was pretty jaw dropping.

Someone hasn't seen the Unreal 4 tech demos.

Crysis looks dated, I dont know what games the OP has been playing. Even Skyrim with HD textures and the right filtering looks better and its a DX9 game that was (poorly) ported to PC.

Unreal 4 is not all that great that "Watch Dogs" game is much more realistic and has a far more polish look to it.

Thats because one is a gameplay demo of a game nearing completion while the other is merely a tech demo.

I'm going to bet Watch Dogs will bomb. Something about it didn't seem all that great. Who knows.

Unreal tech engines are great for "Renting" out to smaller time game devs whom do not have the funds and or know how to make an engine from the ground up. As for being top of the pile as far as visuals I was never really that impressed though I do like the engine allot and how light on it's feet it is and still looks decent.

No chance of that, if Microsoft had any intentions of continuing to port the Halo games to PC they would have already ported Halo 3, ODST, and Reach.

Isn't unreal 4 nothing but a tech demo currently ?

A quick check shows there are no games listed using it that are coming out.

Let me know when there are actual games I can play that use it.

Not sure what you tried to prove by posting a laundry list of mostly extremely crappy games and console ports LOL. I said the Unreal Engine was a good rental engine you proved me correct thanx.
yeah Mirrors Edge, Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Bioshock 1 and 2 were all just crappy games...

Mirrors edge was OK for a demo type game I dont consider it great or a full game by any means the Batman games sucksed hard IMHO and the Bioshock games are masterpices of digital art IMHO and I really enjoyed Bioshock. So that's three game engines out of like almost 100 games listed a start a presume.

Mirrors Edge not a full game? um okay and MOST people found the Batman games to be great. how many great games used Cryengine? lol
