Baldur's Gate 2

It's funny I have played through BG1, NWN1, DA series & ME series but missed this one. I tried playing it a few months ago but the low resolution on a 30in screen really hurt.

Probably a lot I'm forgetting but off the top of my head:

Deus Ex
Half Life 2
KOTOR 1/2
Planescape: Torment
BG2: (I've played partially through multiple times but never finished)
Bioshock 1/2
Mass Effect 1/2/3 (I made it about 4 hours into ME1 and thats about it)
Metal Gear Solid (all of them)
Batman Arkham City (and Asylum)

These are all fairly new games I haven't gotten around to or never finished, I'm sure theres lots of good older games that I never played.

Wut?

I definitely missed that. I probably assumed the resolution would be stuck at that because it is such an old game.

I'll give it another shot someday... a lot of Steam games I haven't even touched.

There's a high number of known games and of high scores (from "professional" reviews, or from general consensus being well appreciated) that I've never actually played, that's for sure. I can name a good bunch by heart easily, note however that I've actually seen most of them in action, either on YouTube or watching someone play it without playing it myself.

I checked the scoring list of GameSpot and sorted it by scores from highest to lowest, and I went through the list to see which ones I clearly remember I've never played myself. I haven't picked all of them, otherwise it would take me too much time and I'm not at home right now as I type this, so here goes for me:

Metroid Prime [Series] (GC)
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (Wii)
Jet Grind Radio (DC)
Xenogears (PS1)
Seven Kingdoms (PC)
Star Control 3 (PC)
Resident Evil 4 (GC)
Resident Evil Code: Veronica (DC)
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X (PS2)
Uncharted [Series] (PS3)
Gears of War [Series] (X360)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)
Chrono Cross (PS1)
Vagrant Story (PS1)
The Longest Journey (PC)
Dark Souls (X360/PS3)
Red Dead Redemption (X360/PS3)
God of War [Series] (PS2/PS3)
Skies of Arcadia (DC)
Grandia (PS1)
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
Wizardry 8 (PC)
L.A. Noire (PC/X360/PS3)
Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 (X360/PS3)
Dead Space 1 & 2 (PC/PS3)

And many others, over the years, and across all the platforms I've owned. I know I haven't played a crap load of "best" or "known" games, unfortunately one life time wouldn't be enough to play them all (I wish I could really).

I tend to wait quite a bit before playing even the most hyped and popular games such as e.g. Skyrim for several reasons:

  1. For patches to be released to solve problems I never have to even meet in the first place.
  2. For DLC packages to be made and later collected in a Deluxe or GOTY edition. When I complete a game I rarely want to return to it again. Therefore I'd like the DLC packages to be part of that one experience.
  3. If it's that kind of game (e.g. Skyrim) I'd like a few mods to be developed and released to improve stuff like console-sized fonts.
  4. And then when the Deluxe or GOTY edition is finally announced with all DLC and whathaveyou, I tend to wait even longer to see if it eventually drops in price or there's a Steam sale.
For this reason I'm still waiting for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and a few other top games.

Good thing I have a big backlog since I recently came out of a break of a few years with no single player games (I played a couple of MMORPG instead).

Skyrim - I think I might like the exploration, but it's too expensive
Fallout 3 - People seem to love it; I am a gaming snob and I don't want to be disappointed.
Deus Ex - Meh
Bioshock - No interest
Any survival horror game - I'd rather be doing yard work

As has been said MULTIPLE times, Fallout 3 is NOT Fallout 2. But it is good fun and you should try it.
Especially with all the DLC.

I might pick it up after the summer semester. Sounds like it could be a time sink. $20 isn't bad and there's nothing else really going on in PC gaming that I know of.

Just quickly looking at my Steam Library

ES Oblivion
ES Skyrim
Arma 2
Arma 2 : OA
Borderlands
Crysis
Dagon Age : Origins Ultimate Edition
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Civ IV
Deus Ex : HR

All with less than 5 minutes invested....looks like I need to get busy.

Mass Effect is definitely worth playing. Arma is... I don't know. It seems like it takes a lot of time. I hated Borderlands, and Civ 4 (with Beyond the Sword) is one of the best PC games ever.
