There are too much useless software in my car, I drive a stick and I don't need it to tell me what gear I am in and when to shift. Damit if I need those I be driving auto.

IIRC, the Fierro was the first car that had a dash indicator that told the driver when to shift. Most cars just used an audible signal.

That was a mislabeled imminent self immolation warning light.

Fiero gave the common people a taste of owning a burning Ferrari.

I went to Popeye's to order the blackened chicken sandwich to try it for the first time. Did not realize it was a limited edition item and was no longer available. Disappoint.

Cooked my porkchop too long in the sous vide since I finish it in the pan. The asparagus came out ok though.

I'm REALLY sad to hear this, while I only had it once it was damn good and I was planning to go get another this week.

Just snooped Slack since I've been off for a bit as I wanted to see if there were any new developments on our office move. Looks like my desk is going to be right at the back, near the main entrance door, so the first thing people see as they walk through will be my back and my monitors, and I'll keep getting hit with cold air every time people go in and out. Not that I look at porn at work or anything but I just hate having my back to people/traffic. Gonna need to get a perm so my hair can be a giant affro lol. At the end of the day though, just glad I got a job to begin with, and that they're not moving the entire department down south or something. Like any change it will just take an adjustment period. I've worked there before when I was on help desk.

As a side note also saw there was a shooting last night near the location of our old office at one of the drug houses across the street, already missing out on action by not being there lol. Maybe that's not a bad thing though... our cars and us will be safer at the new place. Thieves sometimes do go to the new location but they tend to go around the back of the building and go for the cable reels and generators in the storage yard and don't really seem to touch employee vehicles. So that will be the silver lining of being there, our cars will be much safer than down town. I already had the starter in my truck stolen once. Surprised they never took the catalytic converters tbh. There's two.

Sounds like this place is at least 2,000 sq feet if not bigger. Why all the space? I heard Elon is running Twitter out of the back of a Tesla?

Ultimate first world problem: was getting ready to start a new D&D campaign with my old college buddies but Hasbro/WotC decided to shit the bed with another fan base (they've already pissed off the MTG, Power Rangers, Transformers, etc. people) so now I'm changing it last minute to a Pathfinder 2e game. I've never played this system so I have to learn it from scratch. Woe is me!

usb-c cables are an utter mess. some of these things only support usb 2 wtf?

maybe one port to rule them all isn't that great an idea

*the oatmeal new standard to replace 8 standards now there are 9 standards.jpg*

The PS5 Edge controller has a lockable USB-C port. Maybe one of the features of the original USB-C cable and connector was simply being able to yank it out of the port easily without being too careful. They didn't consider that it would lead to it slipping out eventually in controllers and other devices such as headsets that see a lot of movement.

The only "shift indicator" I want in my manual transmission vehicle is called a tachometer.

;)

That’s what engine noise is for. Tachometers are pointless eye candy.

Unless you're in a situation where you can't really hear it which happens fairly frequently. Manual cars without a tach are seriously lame. (just like counting on "idiot-lights" for anything important)

They're only "decoration" in cars with automatics. (to be fair the VAST majority of cars on the road in the US)

Thinking about taking a car in to get worked on and will probably have to leave it overnight. Decided to look into rental cars. The cheapest Econo roller skate Enterprise shows is $90 day including the one discount I'm eligible for.

The used to be about $20/day. Expensive luxury cars were well under $100, but oddly enough, I can get one of those for the same $90-ish.

I can still get a u-Haul rental truck for $25/day though.

I like tachometers, mainly for eyecandy purposes. If you can't hear the engine, and somehow your nerves died so you can't feel it, there's always the speedometer. Tachs are superfluous.

Wife bought a random fruit stand off amazon. Came with this as free gift, claims to be ceramic knife, but it is clearly cheap stamped stainless. :colbert:
