We have to enter our time in two different systems at work, and they changed one of the systems a while back and it's super tedious to use. Like if you don't click things just right the menus don't come up or you start typing and it's not erasing default value right etc.. It's just awful. Also if you make a minor mistake and try to save, it makes you start over the entire schedule. Guess who just made a minor mistake after entering my month schedule? Ugh.. I really don't feel like going through all of that again.

Today the new next neighbors.....the same ones I wrote about yesterday with the pit bull........decided to use a machine to knock down trees in their back yard and knocked trees onto the power line and knocked out power to the neighborhood. I mean they were pushing trees directly at the power line, so I don't know what the fuck they were thinking to begin with.

I'm really beginning to not like these new neighbors.

Wow sounds like they were being idiots lol. Some people should not take down trees. I don't consider myself an expert but I know my limits. Took down a big tree and when I got to a point where I did not feel safe I hired the rest out.

Only about 2 1/2 hours.

When it happened, I called the power company and told them that the dip-shits next door pushed a tree onto the line. They had a crew on site within 20 minutes to start working on it.

Some of the other neighbors walked down the street and were just staring at the dumbassness from the street. I am going to guess they have not made a good impression for many of their new neighbors.

I mean it wasn't like they were felling trees and one just fell in the wrong direction. They were using a machine (which I've never seen before) to topple their trees into the power line. It hurts my brain trying to figure out what in the hell they thought was going to happen.

<vent> Remember my "Leadership that Inspires" post? Three levels of management above me (yes, that is too many levels anyway) are quitting at the end of the month. Six other folks in the office are also quitting then. Three folks have quit since the beginning of the year. The reasons circle around a couple of upper level managers who are poster children for the Dunning–Kruger effect. Their asinine decisions have brought seven easily avoidable lawsuits in six months. They then diverted staff away from billable work to dealing with the suits. As a result, contract breaches and more suits are likely. New hires are sniffing the air and backing out. The two managers destroyed business relationships that have gone back decades. I have to gut it out for a year to retirement. It will be a year in hell as there is no more buffer between me and the Dunning–Kruger managers. They appear to be oblivious to not having any worker bees left. I thought the suits would attract some attention from top management but nothing yet. Sick leave never looked so useful. </vent>

I spent a summer working as the crane operator for a tree service company in the SF north bay. I saw some seriously stupid and fucked up things...hell, I DID some seriously stupid and fucked up things as a result of the stupid shit the tree guys did. ( tell them,"OK, I can handle 4,000 lbs at this distance." They'd hook me onto the tree...cut off a piece weighing 8,000 lbs with no place to set it down...I had to try to get it to me without tipping the crane over into an apartment house...or private residence...or some business.

My work computer has 8GB of RAM. The operating system and corporate spyware security software consume over 4GB of that RAM. Opening the basic stuff leaves me with less than 2GB to run any productivity software. There is an empty RAM slot. IT will not authorize more RAM, period. Our IT people are the kind of folks that get suspicious if a user knows how to open Task Manager.

That sucks, I know how that can be. The laptops we used at my first developer job out of college were pretty bunk. I actually ended up ordering a RAM stick myself and putting it in, although if I had asked the owner of the company he would've bought it, but I was an idiot I guess.

I washed the towel I had on the top of my dresser last night but now I can't find it and have looked everywhere. There was a folded up towel in the closet with other linens, but unless I blacked out, don't remember folding it, don't remember walking over to closet and putting it away, and don't remember walking back to resume folding clothes... I dunno (I noticed it was missing after folding everything). It's weird.

I solved the mystery today when putting another towel on my dresser to replace the other one. First reason was that the one I took off was the size of a regular bath towel, which I did not realize (I thought it was smaller like the one I put on it today). And the towel that was actually originally on it, that I took out of the dryer after washing it, I thought was just a regular bath towel and so hung it up in the bathroom. I realized what happened when I put the other one on today and noticed the color, and was like "Wait... the one that was on here is the fricking one that's hanging in the bathroom."

I'm only 39, my mind shouldn't going already. fml

I sent them a message with the product production codes, however they didn't have a way to attach any pictures.

I guess I'll see what they have to say. I like their ice cream, so hopefully they send me a coupon to replace the container. I could also take it back to the store the next time I shop there, but that seems like [millennial mode on] such a hassle. [millennial mode off].

Crazy thing is, I'm 45 and I think this is the first time in my life I've contacted a company about anything food related. But I will say I was really disappointed by the serious lack of delicious cookie pieces the packaging said was in there.

This happened to me recently too. I bought cherry ice cream from one of the higher end brands at the store. The container showed bits of cherry in the ice cream. I opened it up and it was completely smooth. Who wants cherry ice cream if there are no cherry bits in it? And why would you show cherry bits in it if there aren't any?

They actually sent me a response about an hour ago:

Sometimes at the beginning of a production run, the mix starts flowing into the container before the added ingredients, such as nuts, fruits, syrups or cookies. Usually our production personnel pull those first few containers before they pass through to the freezer for future distribution into the marketplace. They obviously missed this time and we do apologize. We never intend to skimp on quantity or quality.

They said they were sending me a coupon to replace the container, so hopefully the next one I get has a least one piece of cookie in it.
