My water main situation (outlined above) has returned to normal. Except that it's not safe to drink yet. I boiled some tap water and sediments collected.

I imagine thousands of toilets are flushing simultaneously.

Pretty quick resolution. 12 hours?

Forgot to pay my April mortgage bill. I transferred the money over to the bank but forgot to go back in once it had cleared. Doesn't look like I will get dinged though as I guess there's a grace period.

Oh man I can't imagine having to do that manually every single time. Is there not a way to automate it?

I owe around 55k on my mortgage and have 41kish in my company ESP. I also have 32k on the credit line which I plan to pay down soon. But I am contemplating waiting like a year and my ESP should hit 50k and my mortgage will be at around 50k, then pay that off instead of the credit line. Dollar wise, the mortgage is the more expensive debt as a big chunk of the payment goes to interest. Though if I pay off the credit line now it will "feel" better to have one debt less.

Our stock is starting to climb a bit and the longer I wait to cash the ESP the more dividends I get, so logically it perhaps does make more sense to wait. Being able to have it paid off by next year instead of the projected 7 years would probably make more sense than paying off the credit line.

The 65W Anker wall charger I bought for my new Samsung S22 Ultra....didn't come with a USB cable.

So bizarre.

I received an amplifier module kit instead of the standalone amp I ordered. Fuuu . .. . this kit of electronic components is a $22 item. The amp I expected was $97.
Mailing it back.

So I bought a ticket to see The Book of Mormon today. $139 for a mezzanine seat that is not in the center. It's Broadway prices and a fun treat sometimes so whatever. But then the fucking service and handling fee is $48? Holy fuck that's more than a third of the actual ticket price, a ticket that's already nearing $150. And then check this, they have the audacity to then say Mobile Ticket - FREE - like wtf! Gee thanks. These fucking people are jackwagons.

There needs to be a fucking law that companies can just say the price of something and that's it, no more sneaking in fees on any of this shit - this is the price, plus tax. Internet, cars, entertainment, everything. Obviously with cars there are upgrades you can get, but it has to say Base Model and there be no additional fees over that. That's fucking it.PXL_20220410_020432741 (Medium).jpg

The whole Skyline Chili brought up a memory today, and I know this thread isn't the place for such stuff, so...........

(snip)

Whenever I traveled back to Ohio, my dad always took me (and my wife and kids when they travelled with me) to Skyline Chili every single time. And It was always his favorite location in Forest Park, Ohio. It was just something we always knew we'd do when there. And there was only one "real" Cincinnati Chili, and that was Sky Line. In fact, I never knew him to eat at Gold Star even once.

When his health started rapidly declining in his later years, we visited him. Of course he insisted he take us to the Sky Line location to eat, and off we went. However, this time he only drank water and wasn't able to eat anything because of medical issues. I felt so bad and that was the moment I really knew he wasn't going to be around much longer. In fact, it was the last time we were able to do that tradition before he passed. :(

We drove down to NC and TN so, of course, we had to stop at Skyline.

On our way back we drove through Ohio again. So....

Lunch 1 (There's a potato under there)

Lunch 2 (There are two hotdogs and buns under there)

Fortunately there are enough that with some planning you can give yourself a nice break between meal parts 1 and 2

You SOB.......Guess what you just made me want to eat? :p

Man, I love walking into their restaurants to eat after and smelling that chili simmering after a long road trip. It's always the first place I eat.

I've actually never tried it with a potato.....The only variation of it I've ever had of it outside with the traditional pasta or a cheese coney, was one time I had it in a tortilla (pretty much a burrito with Cincinnati chili).

Ha. TBH after looking at the pictures I do too. The potato was pretty good - I'd put it above the Cones but below the chili cheese fries

Good old "everything happens at once" situation. Flight to Tenerife wouldn't book online so had to call the airline. 3 hour hold. So I start making rice for dinner figuring I have some time. While it's cooking I take out the trash and notice the garage smells like gas. Snowblower apparently got a small leak. Set the phone down and start cleaning the floor. 30 seconds in an agent gets on the line. So I run upstairs where all the flight info is with my hands smelling of gas. And the rice finishes cooking while I'm talking to the agent

But I got the flight booked and the gas cleaned up with only slightly mushy rice so FWP indeed

The house next to us has been empty for probably five years. I think the previous owners went bankrupt, and whoever bought it pretty much gutted the entire house (both inside and outside). About a month ago, people finally moved in (although I never met them). I'm a pretty private person, so I'm not the neighborhood picnic type person.

Fast forward to today......I was letting our youngest dog out to use the bathroom in our yard (on leash, because he's not fully trained in commands). He's doing his business when I see a pit bull running from their yard right at us. I had never noticed they had this dog, so it really caught me off guard. A guy began yelling at it to stop/come, but of course it didn't listen. I ended up grabbing my dog and their dog by the collar to keep them separated, and thankfully I didn't get bit and the dogs didn't bite each other.

The guy was very apologetic and introduced himself, but my back really hurts from being forced into an awkward position (I've had a back surgery before, so it doesn't take much). Hopefully, this is a one-time thing, because it really will suck if it isn't.

A pit bull that can roam around unleashed and the owner has no control over... what could go wrong?

<vent> Remember my "Leadership that Inspires" post? Three levels of management above me (yes, that is too many levels anyway) are quitting at the end of the month. Six other folks in the office are also quitting then. Three folks have quit since the beginning of the year. The reasons circle around a couple of upper level managers who are poster children for the Dunning–Kruger effect. Their asinine decisions have brought seven easily avoidable lawsuits in six months. They then diverted staff away from billable work to dealing with the suits. As a result, contract breaches and more suits are likely. New hires are sniffing the air and backing out. The two managers destroyed business relationships that have gone back decades. I have to gut it out for a year to retirement. It will be a year in hell as there is no more buffer between me and the Dunning–Kruger managers. They appear to be oblivious to not having any worker bees left. I thought the suits would attract some attention from top management but nothing yet. Sick leave never looked so useful. </vent>
