Home prices are so depressing. In the market for 3BR and prices are insane even in suburban areas.

I live way out past BFE and the prices are crazy here too. Home prices have more than doubled since we bought here 3 1/2 years ago.

Lumber prices are not going to help for new builds either. Went down slightly but still way high and doubt it will ever go back to normal. Even before all this, most new houses were going for over 300k even for a basic build. When I see these new subdivisions go up everything looks so cheaply and quickly done, yet they ask top dollar for it.

1. I had to spend about an hour spraying all the poison ivy that has popped up on our property. We've always had some grow in certain areas of our yard, but this year has been the worst that I've ever seen it.

2 I've largely given up wearing my Ohio State hat down here, because it seems like that every time I am anywhere, I get some weirdo that comes up and says something like "Ohio State sucks!". Because of this, I usually just wear a camo themed hat with a small flag on it.

Apparently I grabbed the Ohio State hat today when my wife and I went to Tractor Supply to get some stuff. I was reading herbicide labels when some guy came out of nowhere and said "I can't believe you're ruining that shirt by wearing that hat!". It caught me off guard because I thought I was wearing my flag hat (with a Pink Floyd t-shirt). It turns out the guy was a Wisconsin fan who really hates Ohio State, and he really didn't appear too stable, like he seemed to be angry about it and had a crazy 'I just smoked meth' look in his eyes.

But I'm so glad he took the time to stop and tell me that.

Is that like the equivalant of wearing a Leafs jersey in Montreal? lol.

I mean I would get it if I was wearing the hat in a Big10 state, or even around a big game or playoff. But to walk up to a complete stranger, in NC, to share their opinion about my hat, is just freaking weird.

In my life, I've never walked up to a stranger in public wearing another team's gear, just talk crap about it. It's freaking weird and I swear it seems to happen every single time I wear my OSU hat or sweatshirt down here. I mean it's not like they even want to shoot the shit and talk about football or anything interesting, they just walk over and say things like "OSU sucks".

I swear I'm going to retire the OSU gear, and just wear something that makes me appear unstable and possibly dangerous. Maybe I'll buy a "I don't call 911" t-shirt along with some anti-government hat. Maybe people would likely steer clear of me then. :p

My kids have been watching a lot of Nickelodeon shows lately, Henry Danger, The Thundermans, etc. They just recently found that Jeanette McCurdy show. The other girl on that show had the most irritating voice I've ever heard on TV.

I was craving a McFlurry and since I have not driven the truck in over a week I figured I should bring it for a ride anyway. Ice cream machine was broken, as is tradition.

They heard you were going and broke the machine on purpose.

Discovered more water infiltration into our basement. Going to have to get someone out to seal the foundation. One expense after another.

Ouch that sucks. Had to get that done years back. Ended up costing 17 grand.

As much as it hurts, kind of worth it not to have a leaky basement though...

Spent close to 45 minutes trying to get Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus installed on my Windows 10 64-bit custom desktop PC.
(Legally purchased from sharewareonsale.com, a site that I trust.)

The Murphy's Law factor was....in order to get the activation code working(after uninstalling Office 2019)... I had to wade thru the disaster that is Gmail's web interface.

I was trying to copy and paste the activation code over from my Gmail (online version) since my Outlook 2019(which is what I was using before for email.)
needed to be uninstalled before Office 2021 could start installing.

Copying & pasting links over from web Gmail to any other email software or web browser window is so tricky.(IMO.)

(Now, try doing that on a smartphone, where you don't have a mouse to help with copying & pasting links.)

Are we certain we're in the right place? (this IS a TECH-forum!)

Highlight text, right-click, select "copy" from drop-down menu = NOT DIFFICULT. ;)

It's super easy on smartphones. Long press on the link and a context menu pops up.

Like this.

Some websites do make it hard to copy/paste stuff though, I've seen it. They do some weird javascript crap where selecting text is glitchy. Smart phones are a pain too I avoid using it for day to day use, I don't know how people do it. Nothing beats a proper desktop pc.

As a side note copy/paste on my computer for whatever reason has always been flaky. Often it does not take, so when I go to paste, it pastes some random thing from days before. Super annoying. I have gotten into the habit of spamming ctrl+c several times when copying. I think it's something to do with my KVM switch since I have it happen even on my work computer when I'm working from home.

I hate my neighbors journal entry #182739. My upstairs neighbors cut their son's hair yesterday and rather than throwing the hair in a trash can like normal functioning adults, they decided to throw their son's hair out their front window. Most of the hair landed on the window ledge right in front of our window. Since our window was open, a shit ton of human hair blew into our unit. I fucking hate my neighbors.

Gather up the hair and fold it up in a decorative snot rag and seal with a plastic jeweled pin. Return the hair to the parents explaining that you made a talisman that will bring the boy back to life should he be struck down. You won’t see a repeat.

There was a notice at work earlier in the week that the water would be shut off in the entire complex for the weekend. Wouldn't any normal company make arrangements to have some water there for us to wash & drink? Not ours. We filled some 5 gallon buckets so we could flush the toilets but had to buy our own water for drinking & washing.

You joke but I was very close to sucking up all the hair with a vacuum, putting it into an envelope, and taping it to their door. Instead I used a broom and swept most of it down to the first floor sidewalk. My neighbors are the most awful people to ever inhabit a multifamily building. I dream of ways to get them back.
