On more than occasion I've had UPS leave packages that required an adult signature. (Alcohol and ammo not at the same time) the driver had my then 7 yo son sign for it

I realized I have not changed my furnace filter in a while and thought I'd go to HD but I stalled too much at home and now they're closed. Figure it will probably be better for my A/C to use a fresh one.

I still need to take the whole blower assembly apart one day and clean it. I was hoping the duct cleaning guy would but he didn't want to. Something about not being qualified lol.

Haven't had shit for energy, and today was especially bad. I alternately fucked around on the computer, and slept. Either the poisonous summer air's getting to me, or I'm dying.

Life is WAY too short to work a job you hate.
Yes sir, that is true. I've been thinking about finding another job for quite a while but I'm just comfortable where I'm at and really like my co-workers so I've stayed put. I don't like rocking the boat, and get comfortable with things, and just go along. But yeah it's gotten to a point where I just hate going in everyday. I've used up all my PTO way before half the year because I just wanted an excuse to take time off. The recruiter that got me my current job called me this spring and after I told him what I make, he was like "wow we gotta get you somewhere else where you're properly compensated!" lol. Yeah I could make more elsewhere but I feel like make decent money now and I'm not obsessed with dollar chasing. I'm more interested in finding a job that I actually enjoy doing; I'm less concerned with making more.

And of course probably as a harbinger to come, my on-call yesterday was total shit. I was on the goddamn system from 7:30 am - 9:00 am and then from 2:30 pm - 11 pm. COOL MAN. Had to contact my co-workers and manager and bother them on a fucking holiday. Ugh. Hopefully I get in a car wreck on the way home. rofl j/k sorta

My 12-pack of 1893 Pepsi (12 oz cans) off Amazon arrived with a can empty and crumpled. Outer cardboard box was dry, but other items inside with the 12 pack were still slick with Pepsi. One can was distended and ready to burst.

Amazon's refunded the entire amount - sooooo ... ... ... 11 free drinks!!
Sometimes a little damage is worth it.

That worked out nice, well, except for it being Pepsi (yuck!) :)

Saw a nice cottage property on Facebook a while back, but Facebook being Facebook, it can be very hard to go back to find a post once it's gone and passed. I found it again, turns out it's a rental and not for sale. The description makes it sound like they are selling it for 50k, but it's actually a rental at 50k per month. GFL with that. I can buy a property elsewhere for that price. I think it's more like a lease, because they say you can build what you want on it. So you're basically renting the land. Kinda bummed though since I was going to ask to go see it.

Got my 100' of saw chain today. Can't do anything fun though. Too awful outside. I've been so bored this weekend. Fall can't get here soon enough.

I hate modern laptops. I miss the days where you could take off one screw and get immediate access to the ram or hard drive.

Now days you have like 30 screws to remove and then you put it all back only to realize some ribbon cable must have gotten disconnected and have to start all over.

Nobody is asking to make them so thin at the expense of usability and servicability stop it!

Worse is they use these oddball star screws that a star screwdriver does not QUITE fit right in, and they strip super easily.

Mine too! This morning included and it doesn't help we got Navi releasing today and the 3000 Ryzen stuff is available to purchase so i am hyped. Usually if i wake up in the middle of the night or early mornings then i am up and just not going back to sleep. Lucky if i get anything over 4 hours.

Yup! Well, never ran into one with 30 screws! And just for giggles, the screws are different lengths o_O. I remember laying them out on a lab bench in the same pattern as the back laptop cover.

It was supposed to be stormy yesterday so I didn't do laundry. Sunny all fucking day. Called for less rain today, and it was sunny when I woke up. I don't like doing laundry midweek, so I did it this morning, and hung the wash out. It's now cloudy, and looks like it wants to rain :^S

Yeah that gets me even more mad that they use different sizes too! This particular one I'm fixing at least uses all the same size, but yeah I've done it where they are layered out as they were so I know which goes which.

On similar tangent I also hate how manufacturers can't all agree to just use delete for entering the bios. The screen that tells you the key flashes by too fast, sometimes you don't even see it, so sometimes there's no way of knowing what key you're suppose to press and it will be some oddball one like F2 or something. Thankfully I can just google it but I should not have to do that.

OMFG! Went down to the community club cafe for breakfast...CLOSED!
(their breakfasts aren't GREAT, just acceptable...and cheap.(for the area))
Ended up going to one of the local pubs for breakfast. Since moving here in December, we've been to bars more often than in the whole of our 44 years of marriage...they have better food than MOST of the local restaurants.

I think I got some food poisioning or something. I've had an upset stomach (slight pain, some diarrhea) since like this past Wednesday, with vomiting a couple times. It's better today than it was I guess. I wanted to call into work but I have work that needs to get done, and I had the on-call phone from over the weekend that I wanted to return. So I figured I'd give it a shot and if I really felt like feces, I'd go home early. But so far I'm ok, though definitely not at 100%. Ugh poop.

What they're trying to do is have the developer buy/raze/build and then lease the property back from the developer. All in a package deal, done and signed before the public finds out. Not that is would matter, our city does whatever they want regardless of public opinion. A while back, they wanted to add a 1% tax on prepared food. Multiple business owners showed up at the meetings and asked them not to. It passed unanimously. Same for a 3% accommodations tax. Even my VRBO has to pay it.
Eff. Going to happen. The upside is that my landlord won't sell until 2020 for tax reasons. The downside, I count ~14 people looking for offices and not much out there. Dickheads.
