And no, I don't think 'because I'm exercising my right to do this' is a good answer... I'm not trying to troll or flame here, I'm just genuinely perplexed as to why you would go through all the danger, inconvenience and expense. Surely your neighbourhood can't be THAT rough :p

Yeah if you live in an area thats so bad you need to carry a gun, you should move. I have no idea where you might live, but i'm sure if thats the case, moving most placed you'd be better off.

Nothing, I wouldn't be able to take it to work and it could be stolen if I left it in the car. My guns stay at home unless I'm going camping or such.

It has nothing to do with fear, or feeling safe. It's simply being prepared.

Do I expect to need it? Of course not.

If I do need it will I be glad I have it?

Yup.

Currently not carrying since my OR permit isn't honored here in PA.

too bad NY isn't a right to carry state.

I have a little 5 shot .380 auto that I left with my parents in PA when I moved here.

Ideally, I'd like to carry a Glock 23 (mid size .40), Glock 26 (small 9mm) or a Glock 27 (small .40)

Why would I carry a gun into a bar, or are you just trolling my threads as usual?

Well, I don't think so, so I'll check:
number of threads posted by Mill in the last 2 months - 40.
number of Mill's threads in which I have posted in the last 2 months - 3.

Yup. I must be trolling your threads. I'm sure sorry for clogging up so many of them.

The Point misses allisolm, striking for 0 damage.

Perhaps you'd like to answer his question?

Why would I carry a gun into a bar?

Aside from all the bickering about firearms...

I'll be buying some of the larger magazines... I only have 1 for my 22. I'd rather have 5 or 10 larger ones. It's annoying to reload them while out shooting... I don't want to carry a box of 1000 rounds while I'm out shooting with the kids. I'd rather carry 5 or 10 clips of 30 or more shots each.

Please tell me that you won't carry when you drink.

And please tell me that you have no temper issues.

Nice try, but guess what? Yep. That's illegal as well! It's also a good way to get yourself shot, or killed in some other fashion. Never(!) brandish a weapon if you are not both justified and prepared to use it if need be. It just gives someone cause to use deadly force on you. But I would hope that would be common sense to everyone, were the situation to be real, right?

From a legal standpoint, CW + intox = big trouble. Even a shot of NyQuil is enough to put you over the legal limit in many states (0.02, IIRC) - but that's putting aside the fact that most legal CC'ers won't bring the damn gun to the bar.

- M4H

Most states that have a CWP have publicly owned (post office, courthouse, etc) and businesses that derive 50% or more of their income from the sale of alcoholic beverages are NOT legal carry zones. That's how it is here in GA. So, you see, your analogy above is invalid because here he wouldn't have been legal to carry it into the bar in the first place. Next.

Pulling up your shirt to reveal a firearm is NOT considered brandshing. Brandishing is considered when you pull out the gun and aim it at someone.

In either case there would be no reason to show/use the pistol... only in life or death situation IMO.

It has everything to do with fear. You dont need a gun to "be prepared" for regular every day life, in a non-ghetto part of the US.

But whatever, you have the right to. As long as that makes you feel safe and secure, and you dont point it at me for no reason, enjoy the bulge in your attire.

Out of curiosity what neighborhoods/areas of Seattle (city proper) scare you? The only places that really bother me are the Central District and Pioneer Square, but not afraid enough to get a CWP.

nope

I live right by detroit and have seen my share of the city. As long as you stay alert and are not either prey, or an a$$hole, you will be fine. Again, that is unless you decide to walk down the wrong street at the wrong time of day.

You don't make life happen, life happens to you. Don't knock people who carry guns. When your life is saved by a legally carrying citizen, are you going to continue to be a close-minded troll and bitch at them from your soap box on how much better a person you are than they are because you don't "need" to carry?

People fear what they don't understand, in this case, guns. I've heard it all too much with AWB coming to an end.

I have not quite decided on which firearm to buy as my carry piece, however, it will be chambered in 45 ACP or a 10mm (but I'm leaning towards the 45 ACP).
