you can use a gun to defend yourself against others....you really are not that bright. Where are these statistics abuot knives less likely to cause fatal injury? the situation would have been difused immediately if he had just pulled out the gun or just showed it....he didnt necessarily have to 'let loose'
outcome: nobody is hurt and he quietly leaves the bar never to return again. no lawyer fees. no paper work. no fuss.

I have a HighPoint .45 (9+1). I know it's not great, but it's all I wanted to buy while in college. Plenty of power for cheap. Plus I'm not big on firing off hundreds of rounds all the time.

Your outcome is skewed IMO.
He used his firearm for self-defense, the courts will see that. His life was on the line and he defended himself.
BTW, I have a Beretta 92fs in my apartment and I'm in the process of getting a new Glock 19 right now. Giving the 92fs to my pops.
