What do you carry?

Mill

Lifer
I'm about to start carrying a Glock 22 .40 caliber as soon as I get my permit application back. Anyone carry full-size, or do you keep it in a vehicle or at work? I'm hesitant to try to conceal a 22. I'm probably going to buy a Glock 26 or 29 here in the future so I can conceal easier. Since the AWB ban is ending I just ordered an assload of pre-ban mags to go with the mags I already have. I'm really considering the 26 due to the cheaper ammo. I'm going to carry with hollow points, but I love putting 500 rds through a gun whenever I get a chance. So, what do you carry?

Come on Mill, you know this is flamebait. This will be a thread for people to say "Why do you need to carry a gun? What are you so scared of? My testicles are all the weaponry I need to carry because I'm a bigger man than you."

I used to carry a Sig 228 w/ 13rd mags and a Crimson Trace laser grip. My dad gave me a Kimber Ultra Compact to carry, and I got a holster for that. But honestly, it's just too big a hassle to carry every day. If I know I'm going into a dangerous or high-risk situation, I'll carry a gun, but otherwise, I live a very safe life. I get in my car in the garage of my house in a wealthy, violent-crime free suburb, I get on the freeway, and exit 1 block from the patrolled parking garage of my North Dallas office. Not to mention my company doesn't allow firearms at work or in the car.

The point is, I don't need to carry. But I do appreciate my right to carry a concealed weapon when I need to.

/me wonders what you did to get it taken away in the first place.

It never was taken away. I didn't realize my comments could be misconstrued, but I'm waiting for the permit application to get "back." My apologies.

Living in Birmingham is the only justification I need! 😉

Once I get into a good part-time/summer job, I am going to check into getting a CWP in WA state. Seattle's a scary city, some areas at least.

What's it take to get a concealed weap permit?

In CT btw.

I thought you lived in WV? Did you move? CT is pretty lax.

Nope, always lived here 😕

Issuance of Permit/License:
Resident Permit/License: yes
Non-resident Permit/License: yes
Shall-issue Permit/License: yes
Must apply in person: no
Permit/License age minimum: 21
Shall-issue means that the issuing authority has no discretion when to issue Permit/License if the applicant is not disqualified.
Other Information:
Must carry Permit/License by law: yes
Must notify officer when carrying: no
Can carry in state park: yes
Gun-friendly peaceable journey laws: no
Guns must be registered with state/police: no

So how would I go about doing this? I'd imagine I could find something on the state website!

Red Ryder Carbine Action Two-Hundred Shot Range Model Air Rifle...with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time!

I carry my cellphone.

I considered getting a gun, but I wasn't sure how to get a permit in my state and didn't want one badly enough to find out.

Honestly I'm not very familiar with CT law, so you could talk to a LEO or call. Sorry.

i took the class for my permit and have all the paperwork but never sent it in. i have a S&W sigma with a couple 17rd clips but it's a bit bulky for carry. i'm looking at the glock 36. for now i carry a benchmade and a surefire. might buy a Microtech UTX-70 in the near future. where are you ordering your mags from by the way? i need to get a couple after the ban drops.

With all the dipshits on the roads around here, if I carried a gun I'd probably shoot someone out of pure frustration eventually. So it's probably better I just keep my wallet and cellphone in my pocket and not a loaded weapon.

Mags

Mill, I have a Glock 22 and it is a bit hard to conceal but not impossible. Get a good IWB (in the waist band) holster and you'll be ok. I recommend looking at the Galco holsters. I have one and it works just fine. If you don't want to carry the 22 but like the Glock in .40 cal. you might want to look at the model 23 or the 27. I used to have a 27 and it is very small and much easier to carry.

I currently carry an H&K USP Compact 45. Absolutely love it.
