Question:
Shouldn't the mods be be held to some kind of guideline to what they can post under their personal account? I'm all for speaking one's mind but I do also believe that a mod should be setting an example for all to follow.
Maybe being a supervisor has got me into that realm of thinking..
We already hold ourselves to a higher standard. That is why we were selected as moderators to begin with. And yes, we are being held to one now, and even more so since we are no longer hidden.
Your joking right? The only standard that has existed for mods here is that they can and have done anything they wanted to. No offense to the mods that have done a good job, but there have been significant problems with moderation here in the past.
These new rules hold promise and there were many people wanting such moderation reforms years ago and were basically scolded or threatened with bans for bring it up. However the fact that a mod can have alter ego leaves the mods able to pull the same shenanigans they did the past, so I dont expect much to change here.
If you want to rebuild trust and good will, release those mods that have conflicts and unban those who were unfairly permabanned. IT is time to admit there were major mistakes made in moderation of these forum.
