That's for the older timers probably, he hasn't been around here for a few years.

He was a trollhunter and a great trader, an all around great guy. Thanks for reminding me about him.

Anyone got a cliffs version of this dramathon?

We've determined you're still a secret mod and that Casio Tech has been stalking you, he was spotted outside your house mumbling something about Peter Welling's abs? WTF is up with that?

Hey Lee. When were you unbanned from AT? Welcome back :)

CasioTech and I are communicating with each other off the grid since he's been banned for a month. Although we enjoy flaming each other, he really isn't that bad. OMG did I just publically admit that? BAN ME!

I can't wait to voice chat with him this weekend on Ventrilo

Mods have all gone public and the rules they are to use to moderate for AT has been published, except some aren't actually going public and have established secondary accounts to moderate from.
Thus the drama, always the drama!

It definately becomes interesting when there is a big change here. It's better than Desperate Housewives. We should create a new forum just for complaining about the Mods and the rules and call it Hysteria Lane;)

Haha

Ross - Changes were made, some like it others REALLY don't like it. Pretty much.

I was never really banned, just reset my password to a non existant email account for a year and a half. The changes here looked pretty cool and one of the senior mods reste my password/email to a real one.

I've already had inverse bond yields esplained to me with sock puppets and had a couple of recomendations for a daily driver Corvette to buy in the garage.

I wonder if anyone on Prosper.com would loan me the $ to buy a Corvette... Hmmm

When Scott (Ulfwald) posted this last night I knew this would turn into a huge "OMG why did you ban me 3 years ago??? It was so unfair!!!" dramathon cry-fest.

I'm glad I never was a Mod because I would have instantly banned about 80 people. In fact I could name them off right now, but I won't ;)

Question:

Shouldn't the mods be be held to some kind of guideline to what they can post under their personal account? I'm all for speaking one's mind but I do also believe that a mod should be setting an example for all to follow.

Maybe being a supervisor has got me into that realm of thinking..

We already hold ourselves to a higher standard. That is why we were selected as moderators to begin with. And yes, we are being held to one now, and even more so since we are no longer hidden.

Your joking right? The only standard that has existed for mods here is that they can and have done anything they wanted to. No offense to the mods that have done a good job, but there have been significant problems with moderation here in the past.

These new rules hold promise and there were many people wanting such moderation reforms years ago and were basically scolded or threatened with bans for bring it up. However the fact that a mod can have alter ego leaves the mods able to pull the same shenanigans they did the past, so I dont expect much to change here.

If you want to rebuild trust and good will, release those mods that have conflicts and unban those who were unfairly permabanned. IT is time to admit there were major mistakes made in moderation of these forum.

I respectfully agree. It's no offense intended, if it bothered me I know where the door is, and can think of probably a hundred ATers who'd give me a friendly bootprint to get me going  To act as though it isn't true is absurd though.

Meh. Welcome to the light mods. I just consider you the law enforcement of the forums. And I....the trouble maker!

giggity giggity

edit: my last giggity giggity post in this thread was deleted. this is a test.

--------
Part of the guidelines is that we will remove or edit message posts that serve no purpose. Obviously, past or current guidelines, if a post is removed or edited, that is the warning to you, the user, that the post went against the guidelines in some form or fashion. Not only are you reposting it, but you admit you are in the wrong in the post where you are breaking the rules.

The guidelines also say that once you are warned about smaller infractions you should be given a vacation if it reoccurs. I can assure you that the vacation granting portion of Fuse Talk still works just fine. I can perform my own test on you if you want though.

AnandTech Moderator Evadman - Question about this mod edit? PM AnandTech Moderator and see The Rules

Now that we have a list of who is a mod, it just makes so much more sense why my posts get mysteriously deleted from P&N, my sig gets changed, and my password reset.

Having never been banned or probably even on the watch list, I can say that I really dont see all this drama effecting me in the least little bit.

Have to agree on that point.

I guess time will show whether that emotional involvement is compatible with being a public moderator.

Can you guarantee that Red Dawn won't and vice versa? There is definitely a lack of impartiality there.

I'd like to request a rotating shift of completely new mods or "culture changes" at least every quarter. Threads like these are quite entertaining to read.

4k posts and still "Senior Member"?"

My standard answer is that if you claim to have scandalous pictures of Mods, you had better be able to back up that claim. Otherwise they may lock you down at Senior Member for all time.

However, there are a few people in this thread with special titles (and not the new mod titles), so maybe you can guess. The real story is that I never liked the epeen titles that changed because of post counts and asked to not have my title change when the board added that feature. I'm not sure who granted my request at the time, but I suspect it was a former Admin.

Every once and a while someone asks this question in a thread and a new Mod thinks there's some error and changes it and i have to rerequest.

When it was first done for me, there really were not any special titles other than "Elite" so I always kept quiet to keep the Mods from being bothered by lots of other requests for a special title. Since there are more with special titles, I'm sure they handle it fine.

I like staying at my current title and think that the attention posters get for titles get based on post counts are silly. Someone can post something very good but have a lower title and get dismissed and not worth reading. Quite silly.

I too am a big fan of Peter Welling's abs. Chloe and Clark in season 07.

Well, that was a fun read catching up after my siesta. :D

Six and Geek, maybe it would be healthy to try turning the page and starting anew, albeit cautiously. Past bad blood can fester and I have already seen a similar conflict between two nice ladies get really nasty a few years ago. For some reason, online drama between ladies seems to get much more intense and lasting and that is very sad. I like you both very much and it saddens me to see such a rift.

To quote Borat: "Throw the feud down the well.":D

Anyway, here's a rose for each of you. God bless.
