What has he specifically done in-class for you to come to this conclusion. IMO, this thread is pure trollbait.

I say that part of the college experience is dealing with views and assimilating information that is not necessarily your own. Heck, every philosophy prof I ever had was a devout atheist. I saw a lot of christians learn to deal with it.

I really don't think that it matters what we call ourselves, because with some people a rose by any other name would smell the same to them. And just because we call ourselves something different doesn't mean that they would adopt it, or understand it any better. I'm a fundamentalist and am going to stay one, regardless of who likes or dislikes it. That being said, my form of fundamentalism is not what is typically thought of.

Okay, call yourself what you feel is most appropriate. I think that word meanings change over time, and so what you were at one point may not be descriptive of you at another, even if you yourself do not change. It used to be that "extremists" blew up abortion clinics and stuff. Now "fundamentalists" blow up abortion clinics and stuff. Since I don't blow up abortion clinics and stuff, I think it might be a good idea for me to come up with another word to describe myself, since the purpose of such a word would be to help people identify who I am, and "fundamentalist" would give them the wrong idea.

:(, This man is a devote christian, and is teaching science to the young minds are my school. Don't you think something is wrong with this. He even wrote books trying to relate religion and god. Horrible if you ask me. His god belief clearly clouds his judgement, and affects his teaching.

Then couldn't it be said that your (or anyone else's) non-God belief could cloud theirs?

That is why he is in school. If he takes a class about 1 thing, but the prof is teaching something else, it isn't fair to the OP. The OP doesn't know for sure this prof is doing that, so this thread is rather worthless.

Can't risk it. He might not have his god belief cloud his judgement, but who knows. I am always skeptical of god believers who claim to be scientist.

Didn't you start a thread complaining about doing poorly in your science/math classes? I am always skeptical of students who do poorly in science/math classes passing judgement on people who probably did well in those very same classes.

Have you had him? If he keeps his beliefs separate from the curriculum he teaches I don't see a problem.

BINGO!!! :)

That goes for Atheists as well. Just teach the cold hard science, and let people come to their own conclusions.

Agreed.

You should know that I found out which professor you are talking about with a 10 second google search. I'm sure that he wouldn't be pleased by your troll here, whether you are one of his students or not.

QFT.

WTF do you think just because he's a teacher of science he cannot also have religious beliefs / faith as well?

Here is what you do:

Get a bunch of drinking buddies together at the local pub and form your own political party. Buy some snappy uniforms to make it all official. Design a simple, but memorable little symbol to catch the people's eye.

Then you can write a book about your struggle. Hell, you can even call it "My Struggle."

Get yourselves elected to higher offices, then declare martial law.

Once you've seized power you can be free to round up all these religious folks and undesirables, throw them in camps and have them work for you, or simply gas them.

Good luck!

Since when did a Christian "extremist" blow up an abortion clinic? If you're thinking Eric Rudolph, he's a professed atheist.

A Christian "extremist" would sell all his shvt, give it away, and fast in the desert for 40 days. Modern day Christians are a long ways from Christian Extremism.

DVK916 - Former member who pretended to be a theist hater. Want all christians dead, he was an asshole, but he left AT.

Editing the Wiki is easy enough, but I'd frankly prefer that you GTFO again.

Speaking of editing the wiki. How the hell did I get listed as a Tampa Bay Bucs fan? :)
