Along the lines of the original topic, I'm frankly at a loss as to why so many Christians are adverse to secular scientific study. If we're right we can't be proven wrong, right? If this professor has devoted his life to studying and teaching science in tandem with being a devout Christian, I feel that is to be commended.

Besides, you'll hear many opinions in a typical college experience. Why are all the rest ok, but not this one? Maybe Christians shouldn't be allowed to teach in high schools or colleges, and maybe they shouldn't be allowed to be managers, because they may try to force their views on their employees. Maybe Christians shouldn't be allowed to hold political office or vote because their beliefs might cloud their judgement. This is America, isn't it?

I think its fundamentally flawed to think all fundamentals' thinking is fundamentally flawed.

I am always skeptical of god believers who claim to be scientist.

Oh? What about Darwin, Galileo, Newton, Kelvin, and Einstein?

Don't make the OP think too much...that's cruel and unusual punishment...

:(, This man is a devote christian, and is teaching science to the young minds are my school. Don't you think something is wrong with this. He even wrote books trying to relate religion and god. Horrible if you ask me. His god belief clearly clouds his judgement, and affects his teaching.

Then couldn't it be said that your (or anyone else's) non-God belief could cloud theirs?

That is why he is in school. If he takes a class about 1 thing, but the prof is teaching something else, it isn't fair to the OP. The OP doesn't know for sure this prof is doing that, so this thread is rather worthless.

Can't risk it. He might not have his god belief cloud his judgement, but who knows. I am always skeptical of god believers who claim to be scientist.

wow.... just wow

Try taking his class, or just sit in on a class or two then judge

QFS (Quoted for stupidity)

I nominate for dumbest thread ever... I'm surprised with your attitude that you even have the capacity to learn anything at college. You should be thankful that Christianity isn't made a national religion. There are plenty of countries out there with a whole lot less believers in one religion who have a national religion. The US is what, 80% or so Christian? Also, just about every Mexican who crosses the border is one more Catholic added to the population. Get the fvck over it you whiny little b!tch.

Sincerely,
God

but it IS. Isn't it? ;)
No, the Bible does not say that the Earth is 6000 years old, only this Earth age, which started with Adam and Eve.

My AP Biology teacher was a devout Roman Catholic. She taught evolution, and took five minutes out of a class period one day to summarize Genesis. We spent the rest of that class period discussing the controversy. It's laughable.
