No, he is not always wrong. He was wrong about the election when he said that the Republicans would stay in power. Almost every other time that you guys say that he is wrong is when you simply disagree with him.

Even if he was always wrong, you guys are still making yourselves look foolish with your 5th grade "neener neener I told you so" behavior.

I kind of agree with you, but I think this was more of a referendum on the Iraq War and against Bush more than the country leaning more towards the left. I think that most voters cannot make the distinction between local, state, and federal government. For instance, voting out a Republican governor because you disagree with the war in Iraq is silly, but many people have done it.

JD50 - Look up. See that?

That's a clue flying over your head.....

Instead of eating crow and moving on, the OP choose to ignore his statements, which in turn further taints anything he has to say...

Which really means that he really has nothing to say...

Hi guys :)

Been busy counting all the money I made from posting on here in the last month. Need to hide it before Rove and friends try to take it back :)

Instead of beating me up over this post why not look at the post I made the night before the election?

I believe I called for a 20-25 seat change, a little low.
I was completely wrong on the Senate. As were most of the conservative talking heads.
Little bit of a surprise there.

But life shall go one. The Democrats are now in power and I get to bitch for 2 years.

BTW; Deal, I am not always wrong, I said last night that Rummy would be gone if the Republicans lost big. And look, he is gone. Even O'Rielly says he was surprised to hear that. so nananananana :p

After reading plenty of AT posts here in P&N the past few weeks, I have something to say about PJ.

I think he is overall one of the nicest and most moderate (in tone and attitude) posters here. I seldom see him make anything personal. Frequently, he says something that either makes sense, or is a reasonable opinion.

What hurts him quite often is sticking to the Republican party line with constant excuses, simplistic logic, and trying to equate Republican blunders with past Democrat blunders. It's a particularly hard time to be supportive of the national Republican party, because the agenda and policy they have pushed during their total control has been so terrible. Massive spending, tax cuts for the rich, corporate welfare, the Iraqi mess, supreme arrogance, and a total disregard for international law and civil liberties.

I have seen more and more honest assessments from him that crystalize the reality in his mind of the betrayal of conservatives by the national Republican party under Bush, and I think that deep down, he gets it. It's just that he's marched for the party line so loyally for so long, that he has a hard time conciously looking at the ugly truth.

If the Democrats screw things up as royally as the Republicans have, which is unlikely in my opinion (not because the Dems are such geniuses, but rather the bar set by the Reps has been positively subterranean), then it will probably expose many on the Left that blindly support the party without considering the underlying values, standards, and policy set forth.

Let's hope PJ leaves party loyalty behind, and walks towards the shining light of unencumbered honest unpartisan reflections upon all of our elected officials.

We can hope, right? Or at least we can depend on some more humorous posts of his ;)

From what I have seen, there are many Dems and/or liberals on this board that enjoy a good debate and don't sink down the level of name calling, but there are also many Dems and/or liberals on this board that insult anyone that disagrees with them.

When I first started posting here I swore that I wouldn't sink down to that level, but at times I have just gotten so fed up with the ignorant insults that I have thrown a few back. I guess you just have to be the kind of person that doesn't take most things personally.

Like I have said a few times today.
I am a conservative first. In theory the Republican Party is the party of the conservative movement, therefore I am stuck with them.
I am very unhappy with a lot of things they have done. And I blame them for this loss. To much spending, Medicare Drug program, ear marks, scandal etc etc all the things Newt said we were going to eliminate came back to bite us in the ass.

However, I still stand behind the party and I shall tell you why...
Already Slate.com is running an OP-ED calling for Socialized Medicine. I am 100% positive that this is the first step in what will be a LONG LONG list of calls for the Democrats to move to the left.
The call to raise taxes will come soon. As will calls for more government programs to solve every problem under the sun.

I highly doubt the Democrats will be able to control the urge to return to their old tax and spend ways. If they do then I will be happily surprised. If they don't then I warned you :)

Right! Show us links to all your posts criticizing them and distancing yourself from them while it was happening, even when others of us gave you post after post containing link after link showing you how blatantly full of sh8 you were about almost everything.

Man, that's about the same as that pathetic cop out, cut and run apology Rush spewed, today. Somehow, he's not "relieved" that he no longer has to "carry the water" for those who don't deserve to have their water carried.

Excuse me, but BUAHAHAHAHA!!!

I suppose you prefer the Republican way, cut taxes and increase spending.
Have you ever heard the saying "you don't get something for nothing"?
The basic problem for Republicans is: They hate government, yet they want to run it.
Your great hero's budget director, David Stockman, admitted that the idea was to run up deficits so as to starve social programs.
Unfortunatly, Bush never got that message, and spent like the drunken cowboy he is.

"their old tax and spend ways"

Better than not tax and spend and let our children pay for the 100s of billions more in deficit.

"I am a conservative first. In theory the Republican Party is the party of the conservative movement, therefore I am stuck with them."

Huh? You stick with a party because they are SUPPOSED to be a party of conservatives even while they are doing things the exact opposite of what you want!? (spending, bigger government)... WTF kind of logic is that?

Let's talk about this six months or a year from now when we start to see Democrat "solutions" to every problem that involve some type of government program.

It is not denial. It is called having a sense of humor.

Remember the old Saturday Night Live Gilda Radnor character that ramble on and on and then find out that she misheard something and end her bit with the line "Nevermind"

Us conservatitives have a sense of humor too.

There is nothing funny about having to save the Country from the likes of the Republicans just swept from their corrupt morally bankrupt hypocrits and their followers.

I guess, but have you heard of a little .gov department called "Homeland Security?" Biggest governmental bureau (read: "red tape") ever created. That'll be a tough benchmark to beat for sure... Plus all of the years of pork, farm subsidies and corporate welfare. The GOP gives plenty of money away. Medicare "reform" anyone?
