Basic biology is cell growth and cell senescence. IF you do not consume as much, your body "grows" slower. This is why people who eat light diets and proper exercise end up living to 100 years old. This is why some people who are 30 years old have the "body of a 50 year old".

The way I see it, your time is worth money. Driving 10-15 over, like normal people, costs you a ticket or so every couple of years. Personally, I think the time savings you net is easily worth the 500 dollars or so every 2 years (ticket plus premiums). Just pay the ticket and stop complaining.

We're douches who never get tickets, I've never sped and not oddly enough never gotten a speeding ticket. I had no idea obeying our laws makes me a douche, wow good to know.
I'd say people who intentionally break the law by speeding are the douches and it's a shame police can't figure out a way to ticket every single one of them. I have no problem with the actual speeding, but I hate people who believe breaking a law, so long as it suits them makes it somehow not a bad thing.

Getting things done 30% faster (85 in a 65) or potentially much much faster (85 in a 55 etc)... the hours are astounding.

You could have just worked 1.5 years of work in 1 year. Or have gotten 3 months of vacation out of a year.

Better to just slow down and smell the hydrocarbons. 😛

Only tickets I've gotten were in NH.

One I beat handidly in court doing 85 in a 65 (I-93 South going back to Boston). That NH district had their LIDAR certifications fucked up and I showed it to the judge and they had nothing to say. That look on that cops face was priceless as I was probably one of the first in a long time to win against him.

The other time was a 60 in a 55 (small highway). It never went on my insurance though, I was pretty annoyed at having to argue it in court (bitch ass Judge had nothing to say except "pay the fine").

A tip I've noticed for Texas (maybe it works elsewhere too). The higher the quality of the highway, the more likely you are to get pulled over. I've been pulled over 3 times for doing (+5 over) and it was always in counties with really nice highways. Now when I see the road turn into a nice highway, I slow down to the speed limit while I'm in that county.

If everyone else is driving 15 over(which they do), its safer for them, and myself, to drive with the speed of traffic. Until they do design a system to regulate speed, I'll drive at the safest speed I can on the highway, even if it is breaking the law.

As long as the slow person in the left lane is driving at least the posted limit and passing cars in the next lane...there's no issue with that...it's only when that person is driving the posted limit and the cars in the other lanes are driving faster that there is a problem.
That inside (left) lane isn't a "fast lane," you don't have the legal right to exceed the posted limit while driving there...it's to pass (legally) those who are in the other lanes and driving slower than the posted limit.

The same applies to dedicated "carpool lanes." They are also limited to the posted speed limit...there's no exemption for HOV's.

So they told you to plead not guilty, I would think that they'd want you to plead guilty, and they would just cut you a deal with no points and a possible reduction. And I would also think if you plead not guilty, you'd have to make an appearance.

My last ticket I called the number on the ticket, and the lady bumped it down in MPH to where it would not have any points. No reduction in money, but I wasn't concerned with the fine amount.

I'm bored so I thought I'd bore you all with a lame update. I called the court directly and some pleasant lady picked up. She said the town is such a bumfuck nowhere, Magistrate appears once a month. She says they Will offer no-point & fine reduction if you simply please not guilty. I guess many people simply just pay up. She also informed that all this can be handled via mail, no need to show up in person. So I mailed it in pleading not guilty. Wish me luck, or screw you to those internet high-horses. I will update again on result.

I got a ticket on I-90 in the bumfuck nowhere in upstate NY en route to Niagara Falls. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, there were about 3 cars on the countryside stretch.

My car was set on 75mph cruise on perma-65mph zone and coming down a hill, my car hit 80mph. The douchy looking cop gave me the EXACT ticket for 80mph on 65mph.

I was not swerving left and right.
I was not swapping lanes like a maniac
I have a perfect driving record/point.

Man I'm so fucking furious. I was pissed off for the remaining half of day. WHOSE LIFE DID I ENDANGER? There are like FOUR cars on highway on a perfectly straight road. Was I being reckless? Was I going 85, 90, 95+ mph? I'd gladly STFU and pay the ticket if I was being the dumbshits you see on the road.

God it still pisses me off. I'm seriously debating to drive 2.5 hours each way just to fight this ticket.

never pay a ticket, dude. try and get a lawyer to get you out of the ticket to something that's 0 points. it's worth it... it'll save you lots of money on your insurance.
