The difference being... if some white dude marries some black chick... this won't kill an innocent bystander.

Perhaps, but if a white girl marries a black dude...it might cause her father to have a heart attack...:p

I drive like an old man, always have because I'm never in a hurry to get anywhere and look around at GF stickers and such. Have only had one ticket in 23 years of driving. Thanks for paying our police.

You admit your car was up to 80 in a 65, you admit that you were intentionally doing 75 in a 65 and you think it's other people who are asses and retards? ROFL!!! Yeah, you go ahead and fight the ticket.
Details, details. Its the principle of the thing, which is....umm...that it sucks to get caught breaking the law, or something.

Speeding isn't dangerous either, but the limits are to make sure everyone is going the same speed. The most dangerous situation would be if every car is going a totally different speed.

If this didn't make you lol then you don't have a sense of humor.

I've been lucky though, not any one of the girls ive dated parents have had a beef with me, most of them like me :)

If interracial marriage were illegal where you live, would that make it wrong? Legality and morality are definitely separate.

Previously you didn't say anything about morality. For gods sake we are talking about a fvcking speeding ticket. Are you retarded?

People drive like 85-100+ on the 5/405 when there's no traffic. It sure gives extra targets for the police to go after other than yourself.

I'm totally with you OP. I see no problem whatsoever with doing 80 in a 65 if you're not driving like a jackass.

going 80 in a 65 IS driving like a jackhole. is it ok for me to go 50 in a 35?

pay the ticket, move on. oh and create another thread please when you do this. remember to include mundane details too. thanks

If I'm coming up from the city, I always lower it to about 9 over once I hit Newburg. I've gotten nabbed a couple of times, and it's always been upstate.

Now that I live up here, I drive like a grandpa, and I actually can't believe when I go to long island or the city how crazy people drive once I get closer to the bridges.

The way I see it, your time is worth money. Driving 10-15 over, like normal people, costs you a ticket or so every couple of years. Personally, I think the time savings you net is easily worth the 500 dollars or so every 2 years (ticket plus premiums). Just pay the ticket and stop complaining.

People who drive the speed limit are douches.

This and you endangered your own life. Survivability of a potential crash increases as your speed decreases.

This thread is funny because someone posted a similar thread a couple days ago complaining that one speeding ticket raised his insurance rates by a lot.

I found it easier to sympathize with him because he didn't try to make excuses as to why he shouldn't have gotten a ticket in the first place.

Doesn't suprise me at all. They have been posting State Troopers at the toll booths from Dunkirk to Buffalo just looking for people that are doing thingsjust the slightest bit wrong. My business partner was putting his bluetooth in his ear at the toll barrier and the cop literally ran to his car to pull him over for distracted driving. NYS is broke do not do anything that will result in a fine. They will get ya.

Speed limits on interstates pretty much exist to generate income for the government. In good driving conditions and sparse traffic there's no danger in driving 75 mph.

So your car was going 80 on a 65 and you got ticketed for doing 80 in a 65. You weren't driving recklessly, and did not get cited for driving recklessly. Sounds about right to me.

Drive the speed limit and this problem could've been avoided. You're just pissed that you got caught.

I lol at the folks here who have the "I'm too fucking important to obey traffic laws" attitude. "I don't have time to drive the speed limit...my time is too valuable!"
