No. The Roman Catholic Church's position on capital punishment for ANY crime is that the practice should be abolished. This has more to do with the phobia of the local culture/society.
What, didn't you read Ausm's and Robor's posts? ANY rejection of any part of the liberal/gay rights agenda - whether it's gay marriage or explaining fisting to school children - is equivalent to supporting the death penalty for homosexuality. In fact, our refusal to embrace gay marriage in particular no doubt drove the Ugandans to do this. You can't blame them, they're such children.
Since I support gay marriage but not explaining fisting to school children, I demand to be considered responsible only for Ugandans voting to beat the tar out of homosexuals; it's those anti marriage equality right wing extremist wing nut hate mongers that are responsible for the death penalty thing. Let's get 'em!
