Basically Brazil started an embargo. Makes me wonder if the rest of BRICS will start to follow that movement until Trump attempts a TACO and fails.
Brazil started nothing. This whole incident is entirely on Trump.

As for "BRICS", an extremely loose confederation of countries with different goals and ideologies and that only has the label because of some Goldman Sax thing - they'll likely just do whatever is in their own countries' interest.
He is damn crazy, the US medicines are expensive and with that, the medicine will be scarce and will allow to the scammers to sell "miraculous medicines" at that price.
RFK Jr and his worm rubbing their hands together at their new business opportunity.

Just a reminder in case anyone needs it.

in April Trump said he had made 200 deals.

90 days ago he said there would be 90 deals in 90 days.

So far, from what I gather, we have seen 3 deals.

China, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam. Some others that were close appear to be pulling back.

Seems as if, once again, what he promises and what he delivers are worlds apart.

I don't think we've seen papers on any of it. Just announcements. Have no idea how the importers know what to expect when their goods arrive from those countries we supposedly have an agreement with. I'm not even certain US Customs themselves actually knows.

And even...
- China deal benefits more China
- UK is more symbolic
- Only Vietnam one is somehow a deal.

Doesn't the US currently Import 95% of its copper? You can’t replace that supply dynamic overnight with tariffs. A first year Econ major, knew that. You also can't find and mine any mineral in a few months. And of the 3 largest producers in the US, 2 are not American: Rio Tinto and Grupo Mexico.

The copper tariff is good for Russia. That is Trump's betrayal of the US. Sanctions on US buyers in retaliation for the suffering of Don's boss, Vlad.

Corps and news editorials like in the WSJ expressing "concern and bewilderment" are not going to cut it. Until major media outlets and people of power call for the ouster of Trump due to being unfit and incompetent it’s all cowardly hand wringing. This is the most incompetent dictatorship in history. The world knew he was a fucking idiot, and a know nothing but a segment of the US population elected him AGAIN! using culture wars to occupy the minds of the gullible. It's as if these people have been drugged.

And the fucking WSJ that dopey Murdoch rag is "concerned" and "bewildered". Lol! Did you clowns prop him up for his business acumen? Or did you think you can somehow reign him into sensible decisions after he showed you his genius in his first term? Even now, you treat him with kid gloves. Murdoch is 94 now, he can't see too far down that road now, as to what his decades of right wing propaganda and 24 hour lies that have infected American society and how it will all finally play out. Rupert hasn't ever given one shit about the damage he has brought to America, why would that change now?

OK folks, here's the mathematical formula that Trump has been using as explained by the genius who penned "The Art of The Steal" to quantify the percentage of tariffs he levies against other nations:

Tariffs get dumped into the treasury to help pay for the tax cuts Trump is giving himself and oligarch buddies. Exploding the deficit you ask? Well somehow the Republicans have mysteriously figured out how the Democrats are to blame for Trump increasing it by the $trillions$

I wonder if these have more sticking power, because the market will not react as strong. Many do not believe him and think TACO Tuesday will arrive. But the limited non-apocalyptic reaction is likely to help the madman burn the country to the ground. But hey, at least his insiders get to work the market ahead of time. Do they have a subscription service to this White House grift as Trump orchestrates his centrally planned economy?

Insider trading has to be off the rails at this point. As the fate of so many people turns daily. From a single cheeto faced lunatic.

Trump announces 30% tariffs on EU and Mexico

These pronouncements are not generating the big swings in equities and currencies that they were so I think insider trading opportunities are diminished. Still exist to be sure but market reaction really muted now.

Everybody thinks that naptime will win out again before these go into effect.

Chose this thread to drop this brief yet concise explanation of Trump's madness and his outrageous overreach in his quest to be King, yet this could fit most anywhere on the subject of Trump's insanity.

They're not having enough fun blowing up imports, so now they're actively flirting with blowing up the bond market by toying with the idea of firing Powell.

They intend to destroy / replace every single person who is not a yes-man to the Emperor's Will.
If Trump decides the rates should be zero tomorrow, they had better be zero tomorrow.
Anyone who sticks to facts, reason, science... they are to be disposed of by this fascist regime.
They will not tolerate even the existence of the... other.

On Tariffs

So the US set up the current world spanning economic framework in the wake of WW2 right?
This is the status quo

1752515631132.png

I mean as an European the Marshall Plan was essential and it was easy pickings when it came to a choice between democracy and the soviet interpretation of communism.
But it HAS been 75 years at this point, and as shown by the chart above, you COULD argue that the debt has been repaid... with some interest.

As I see it, at this point in time the US is realizing that it's going to be hard to squeeze ever MORE out of its middle class (BUT FUCK YOUR HEALTHCARE), so now you need the rest of us to chip in towards your never ending flow of money and power to the top donor class.

So you see America. Your shit is starting to spill over.

No no no everyone is ripping the US off. Even countries we have a trade surplus with are stealing from us.

Dumbest fucking president ever.

A Brazilian brothel has slapped a 50 per cent tax on its American customers in response to Trump's tariffs...

They are calling it the stupidest trade negotiating position in history. They are saying it very strongly.
