Sidi Genius 4's. Can't wait to try them on the bike. They feel like slippers compared to my Diadoras.

Spiffy!

Yeah compared to my $20 nikes... :(
Yeah, these were kinda spendy, but I needed new shoes. My old ones were causing my left foot to go numb, so I went ahead and ponied up for something better-fitting.

Van's or AirWalks, preferably their BMX line are great. I have a couple pair of Answers that I got on a Hot Deal last year that are awesome because they can be used as regulsr sneakers but convert to clipless.

He has one ;)

I saw an ad that Oakley is coming out with non-clipon shoes. Their clipless ones are coming too.

Okay, as promised, here are the toys. The pics came out kinda crappy, but you'll just have to deal with it. :p

American Comp-Lite, now serving commuter duty.

Eddy Merckx MX Leader Motorola

Bob Jackson 531 comverted to fixed-gear.

Steelman SR525

I didn't know you had an American - made in Minnesota with pride!

All your road bikes are very pretty. I know the Steelman is your pride and joy, but I have to say I think the Merckx beats it aesthetically. I really, really want a Motorola or Molteni orange MX Leader at some point. That Jackson is a very classy single speed.

The Merckx looks much better with black saddle and rims that acutally match. Poor thing just has a hodgepodge of stuff on it right now. :(

The Jackson is by far the most comfy of my bike. The 531 tubeset is very compliant; rides like a Caddy relative to the rest of my bikes. :p

Yeah, my 531 Woodrup is quite a bit comfier than my Moots, even though it's ti. 531 is nice stuff for all-around riding.

Nah, I can't afford a new one right now. And even then, I am not sure I'd want a full suspension. I don't do enough downhilling to justify it. Though, it's always fun to look. I have to keep reminding myself that unlikes some other products, it's okay to have a bike that's not the latet model/year.

The big downside about bikes is that they lose their value so quickly. Keep a bike 2+ years and you end up selling it for a fraction of what it cost you. Expensive hobby.

Epic ride

Can't wait to ride it this weekend.

OMG, are you serious? You are really getting a $3800 bike? It's gorgeous! Take pictures when you get it!

You bet. Picked it up Friday night. I then went for a 1 hour spin in the local park to test it out. Saturday I went to a 3 1/2 ride. It is one amazing bike. Picture might be awhile as I don't have anywhere to store it.

that epic is a sweet ride.

here are a few more pics:

my old fisher big sur

my [wife's] newer fisher sugar 2 (hanging from the roof, pic flipped.

old 1980's Trek 560EX (reynolds 531) waiting for funds for full rebuild

the haro is my favorite to ride of all the bikes. it's a tank at 40 lbs, but it will go anywhere. The 2.5 downhill tires are a liitle much for xc riding.

oh, and i watched the triplets of belleville last night. It's the greatest cycling movie since breaking away. big thumbs up and highly recommended to any who loves bikes.
