I was used to a hard tail and this bike seemed to make the transition pretty easy. In fact, I found that the full suspension allows me to stay in the saddle longer when going up hill. A bit heavier than my old bike but much faster on the down hill.

In short, it gets the monkeypod stamp

Those lefties are cool... always wondered how it would feel like to ride those bikes... :D

Unfortunately im stuck with a fork that bottoms out on curbs and flexes like no tomorrow. :( I'll see how long it holds up...

I have a nice Vitus Roadbike I need to post...once i get home and find the pics....

shimano v brakes need to be worked on...:( They don't spring back out after braking.....so mid-ride, I always lave to reach back there and pull them apart.

The chamapolo[sic] are "inconvenient some times but they get the job done. Only Problems I have with it are:

A) The rear rim is bent and either needs to be adjusted or replaced.
b) the front "hoops" are nice for riding, but they kill the inner area between my thumb and index finger:( after long runs 20miles-40miles+

Other than that I love it.

Helmet: You need it. Using a Bell at the moment. There are cheaper ones.
Gloves: You need it. I have a pair of Specialized padded gloves.

How do Specialized gloves compare to Pearl Izumi?

I like mine a lot. They are half-finger with a whole finger on the thumb. The padding is great.
I have no idea about how the Pearl Izumi gloves are yet. I have a set of winter gloves from them that I never used.

My old school road bike.

I have it set up for commuting duty. My mtb is also set up for commuting duty even though I haven't done much commuting on either one lately.

This is a very early 90's Univega with Suntour Superb Pro components. The pedals are Specialized SPD pedals and I have a couple pairs of shoes that will work on the road or mtb (it also has SPD pedals). I need to change the brake hoods and handle bar ends to black but haven't gotten around to it. I bought this bike in 1990 to replace my 70's Motebecane Le Champion which was stolen from my garage in Hermosa Beach...sniff. :(
