My feelings so far.

Silent is nice, because in my opinion, the 360 is too loud for any video playing. The PS3 is definitely nicer for things like Netflix.

I like the way it looks, I'm tired of goofy looking consoles sitting under my TV. I still have the original style PS3 and I hate that damn sloped top.

I have an old original PS3 and a newer 360 slim. The PS3 sounds like an airplane while the 360 is silent and can't be heard.

It really depends on which version you have.

My launch PS3 was getting loud. Blow it out with air, a lot of dust builds up over time and makes it run a lot hotter and louder then it should. Once I blew mine out and was nice and quiet again.

I have an 80GB fat PS3, original white 360, gloss black 360, matte black 360 and slim PS3. All of my PS3s are quiet, but none of my 360s are. It makes sense, because the PS3's fan is significantly bigger so it can move more air at lower RPMs. The 360 uses a small 40mm fan.

EDIT:
agree. PS3s shape is annoying as hell. much prefer simple rectangles

I think both current consoles look fine, but I agree that flat tops work better because you can stack things on them easily.

Did I get that right: their new xbl servers will let a game host on those and thy are more than just a match maker?

about half an hour in and all they've talked about using it for tv, Kinect, and live. only game portion was the brief mention about being able to dvr video of a game being played. seems odd to me the lack of game coverage so far.

That's what E3 is for, I think. Or they don't want to blow all their load since E3 is just a couple weeks away.
