I got to the first temple in Zelda and haven't played it since early December. I agree, the game just didn't suck me in and Link is a boring character. Also the whole part controlling the wolf turned me off.

So far, Super Paper Mario has sucked me into the game VERY quickly and I'm loving it. All I want to do right now at work is go home and play it 🙂

maybe you have to be a Zelda fanboy to really like it? I never really liked the Zelda games on previous systems either.
 
The full version of the Wii Opera browser is very nice. Ability to remove the tool bar. Multiple levels of zoom. Faster rendering. And Flash support much, much better.

One thing you need to be wwarned about ... there seems to be a lot of text and you can't skip over it. But it's easy and fun reading. Like you literally are "watching" the game for about 20 minutes before you actually start playing it. I started it at 9:30pm last night and I barely "played" anything before I turned it off for the Shield at 10pm.

However what I've played so far is a lot of fun! I'm on level 1-4 right now and there hasn't been too much text in between the actual missions. But it's definitely a lot more action/platformer than it is an RPG game. The flipping between 2d/3d worlds is pretty damn cool and you will want to do it just to see what's in the 3D world to find hidden stuff.

If you are into Mario, I strongly recommend this game. It's my favorite mario game since probably Mario 64 (New Super Mario Bros on DS was good too, but it was just too damn easy/short).

Yea Nintendo builds practically indestructible consoles. My N64 was dropped on concrete floors at least a dozen times and the thing has never even as much as hiccuped. Still works great to the day...
 
The final Opera Browser has been released to the Wii shop channel for a free download. Your system should be flashing blue any minute now.

Many of you perhaps saw that spectacular glow on your Wii's disc slot and found yourself hypnotized, falling to your knees and drooling out of your mouth like you had just been witness to the Hypnotoad. Upon battling your way out of hypnosis and installing the system update and checking out the Shop Channel, you might've found that the final version of the Wii's Opera browser is available for upload. Well, we did and we managed to take some pictures for you (it should be noted we have no way of taking direct feed snapshots, so they aren't the greatest images).

Well I must say ... Super Paper Mario is one of the most intriguing platformers I've played in a LONG time, probably since Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank on PS2 back in the day. It's just so well put together, the story is pretty fun and keeps your interest, and the best thing is, the game doesn't just fly by! I've played it for over 2 hours and I'm only on level 2-2 (just finished 2-1 last night as I went to sleep). It's one of those games you just don't want to put down and want to keep playing, even though you know you should stop. It is kind of like watching 24 S1 for the first time on DVD, and you know that even though it's like 3am and you watched 7 episodes in a row, you just want to watch that 8th one so bad.

Love the new browser, but the zoom has temporarily fubar'd the interace with my favorite Wii-oriented site, Finetune. Actually you can re-zoom the site to the appropriate scale to match their custom Wii interface. But hopefully Finetune will quickly adjust.

Still love the Wii, but online multiplayer can't get here soon enough.
 
Wow so I played Super Paper Mario for an hour last night.

I passed 2 levels. I went from the beginning of 2-2 to the beginning of 2-4.

SO yah, this game is DEFINITELY a longer game, which is more than welcome.

If you haven't gotten it yet, get it!

does your wii internet channel say trial version?

how do i upgrade to the latest versino fo the browser? just do a system update or what?

LMAO. Same thing happened to me like 30 minutes ago 🙁

I was in there for like an hour and died at like 68 or something. Sucks big time.

Do you know if you exit after like 10 levels, when you go back in, will you be at the level you left off?

Yup. Update the system to 2.2U. And then update the Internet channel.

yes! why can't they let it do an auto-update, or something similar to windows update?
its weird that it can't do some forms of streaming video. youtube seems to work ok but some other stuff doesn't work.

It's not even auto-updating, it's that you have to update the system to see the updated software list? WTF?

Anyway, flash 7 is what is installed, so if a site is using something newer, that's why it most likely doesn't work (or simply, they're using WMV or MOV... I have no idea if it supports those)
 
Man, I got a Wii on launch then and then fvcked it up, so Im back on the hunt again.

Now I finally feel the pain of everyone else who can't find the damn things. It's borderline humiliating to have to hunt and beg for them. 🙁
