The big annoyance is it seems like the Xbox One will come out 2 and a bit months earlier... I want a PS4 but the wait with XBO out will suck, I might end up with both 🙁

You've got a beast rig, just wait it out. Plenty of great PC games to catch up on anyway.

Besides, when Xbones are on clearance during 2014, pick one up for $149 or $99 😀

Not even sure. The X1 comes out in November and the PS4 is simply set for the end of the year. Given Sony would definitely want to target the Holiday season, they will want to be out by the beginning of December at the latest.

When i Pre-ordered my PS4 at work (Gamestop) they told us the PS4 would be available in November and not December



But I hope they get a controller similar to he one on the Xbox 360 as i've never really liked the Playstation controller
 
so I just read something saying Amazon changed their preorders to add the standard and launch editions.

They are the same thing, but only the launch edition will be guaranteed on launch day. I did mine the night of E3, they are supposed to let you know if it was changed to the launch edition. Did anyone get that email/statement?

yup i got an email stating that mine was a launch one.

well, that would suck if I didnt' get one, hopefully it takes time, because I haven't read anything yet. Hopefully they at least send an email saying I won't get it on launch if that is the case.

well all it says is that the "launch" edition is eligible for release-day delivery. that is the only difference. but it isn't automatically going to be at your doorstop that day, it's just eligible for that so you have to pay more for it.

i'd think the standard ones will still be arriving like the day after or so. here's the actual email...

I dont know looks like the std is iffy for release day but will probably still happen. Sony is probably going to delay launches elsewhere due to the demand of the NA. They dont want to screw up at all this time.

Hmm I still need to figure out what game I want with the PS4. :$ I would really like to see a comparison with some of the third-party games like Assassin's Creed IV as I currently have it on pre-order at Gamestop, but I planned to change it to a next-gen console. I just have no idea which I would want it for as I've pre-ordered both! 🙁

Yeah, I'm just saying that because Sony didn't give us a month like Microsoft did. The point is that it will be released around the same time as the X1. Hell, I think it would be amusing -- and also complete and utter hell -- if both released on the same day! :twisted:

It's bigger, but it still has the joysticks in-line rather than in cross positions.

That's when I ordered mine, and I got the e-mail this morning.
