so i did more thinking while i was at the gym now bout x1 lol, and i'm not 100% sold on it after killer instinct. i mean i am really excited for the game, but then i was thinking how i won't be able to just go redbox shit and play it. and i don't like the fact that if for some reason i did want to sell my shit, i couldn't just sell my console + games to someone cause their stupid shit.

so instead of 100% i'm at like ... 80% now lol.

Well we have no clue whether this is how it will work on Sony.

Both Sony and Microsoft have smart PR crews. TBH, I believe that DRM will be present on BOTH consoles as it would be hard to do it on one and not the other.

I think it's just two different approaches. MS decided to get it out right away and take the backlash now. Sony may be waiting and taking that backlash later. We've seen how Sony acts as a company and it's a VERY different way compared to MS. You have the Japanese method vs the US method of disseminating information. Making decisions about consoles in June, when they come out in november is kind of crazy. Just enjoy the games lol.

Gamers with kids would see the DRM schemes and paywall for F2P and probably balk.

Read the above quickly, but I think BOTH consoles will come at $500. It's impossible really for Sony to come in lower without taking a HUGE hit to profit margins. If Sony decides to do it, Don't think MS won't revise the price and match Sony. Don't even be surprised if Sony hits 600, they've done it once and they're still here today.

As always, these threads show that people overreact, but at the end of the day everyone is still here.

This DRM shiit though, like I said before, BOTH will have it most likely. It's just they both have different approaches to telling us. Japanese company vs American Company. I'm not going to purchase based on hardware because Sony was ALL the rage with their cell processor in PS3 and look how it turned out?

Picking a decisive winner in June when the consoles come out in November is just childish, naive, and uninformed to how things actually work.

Just watched the MS conference. I got excited when I thought I was getting a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, but really disappointed that it's a MGS game... bleh. Visually looked really nice though.

I conclude this pre-ordering allowance was a good move by MS. A lot of preorders in this thread and now you people, even those saying they can cancel if they want, have just a tiny bit at least of psychological buy-in over the unit. If the PS4 was available for pre-order today you'd have gotten that instead, but if it was available tomorrow, would you double up?

as of now i'm like 75% getting x1 at launch and 0% getting ps4 at launch.

watching the ms conference now and so far the games are awesome they are showing. i think killer instinct looks awesome too. i also think the the whole gamedvr and twitch thing is awesome.

mgs5 and ryse both look incredible to me. will be spending A LOT at launch though if i get it cause they said a madcatz stick will be available at launch too. and damn they just showed the panzer dragoon sequel that looked aewsome too!

i really hope ms thinks about their decision after hearing the uproar at the sony conference. doubt they will but i hope so.

Update: Microsoft's Major Nelson has issued an update via Twitter letting us know that Metal Gear Solid V is not an Xbox One exclusive. We're betting Sony is feeling better. Yeesh!

I was deadset on the Xbox1 because Sony didn't give me any reason to want a PS4. Not to say I wouldn't want a PS4, I want EVERYTHING, I'm a whore like that, but it was what order I was going to get it in. Now, I'm getting PS4 first probably and Xbox 1 second.

We ALL want the console that everyone's friends will be playing. The general gamer, will get the cheaper console. And the cheaper console, has stronger hardware. So uh... yes... I thought MS could overcome worse hardware and some other hurdles, but this is an EXTREMELY hard choice but I'm leaning towards Sony a little until I see some graphics comparisons, and some consumer reports saying who will be buying what.

The exclusives MS did show, were better than those Sony showed. Sony showed no real exclusives that were interesting. A bunch of games I could get for $5 on the XBLA? No thanks. MS had KI, Titanfall, Forza, Halo. Those a major franchises. Sony didn't show Jak and Daxter, God of War, nothing.

I figure I am going to get both, because I am adult and have a job, but I still was a bit underwhelmed by Sony with the exception of the price. It is a bold move and they are hoping it pays off.

Sony might now have shown you much in the way of many exclusives but you know that they are working on existing and new IPs. Considering how good their first party titles are, I'm not worried about it.
