The exclusives MS did show, were better than those Sony showed. Sony showed no real exclusives that were interesting. A bunch of games I could get for $5 on the XBLA? No thanks. MS had KI, Titanfall, Forza, Halo. Those a major franchises. Sony didn't show Jak and Daxter, God of War, nothing.

I figure I am going to get both, because I am adult and have a job, but I still was a bit underwhelmed by Sony with the exception of the price. It is a bold move and they are hoping it pays off.

Sony has Kingdom Hearts 3(square doesn't support MS very well). They also have Naughty Dog...Naughty Dog > all MS studios combined

Sony had to say 4 words to get my money. Little Big Planet 3. They didn't and I think I'm leaning towards the Xbox One right now, solely for Halo and Forza.

everyone is different

MS showed 1 game that i was interested in. Halo, and ill be dammed if i spend $500+ to play halo. i spend 300 odd dollars to play Halo on the 360. literally all but 1 of the 360 games i own is Halo. there really are not any exclusives on it that i find interesting. and its not like Sony has a ton of them either. the only reason i play my PS3 more is because thats what all my friends have

yup this is exactly my feeling. i will own both consoles 100% at some point. but i won't own one over the other until it has an exclusive that i want to play.

just got to the witcher 3 part of the ms conference. that game looks incredible too. the x1 games showed, regardless of being multiplatform, were more exciting than the ps4 ones. and the x1 had much better exclusives that i got excited about. didn't get excited about 1 exclusive on the ps4 to be honest.

now it's at the bf4 part and i'm about to ff through it lol dont' give a crap about it.

Well, do you play on PC too? Cause both those games will be PC titles which is why I don't even care who shows them...I buy them on PC

I'll go with the more powerful and less restrictive system any day. Add in the fact that Somy has naughty dog, which MS has no one at that level at this point, and it seems like a no brainer.

huh? just because ms is making some stupid ass decisions doesn't mean there aren't badass looking games coming to the x1.

I guess. But you're basing this decision on the games Sony showed tonight. You and I both know they'll have their big games come out at some point. Why they didn't show them tonight? Shrug. But I'm a believer in supporting a company that makes decisions that reflect my beliefs in what I spend my money on.

I'd rather not support Microsoft's shitty nickel & dime system regardless of the games they have coming out. There'll be millions that disagree with me though.

Man, why do we all argue so much over video games? lol

yes ... at some point ps4 will have games i want to play and will buy it at that time. as of now, with what they have shown to be available at launch, ps3 has hardly anything that is an exclusive and "must have".

i'm not a psychic so i can't tell you what they have coming at launch that they haven't revealed yet. but tonight was the night to reveal big launch titles if there was any night to do it.

and we're not arguing, we're discussing. it's just whack that people feel they have to have an allegiance and defend one side or the other. luckily i can afford to get whatever i want to get and don't have to try and justify one console over the other. i just base my decisions on games that are going to be on the consoles. as always i enjoy all consoles.

In the end, I'll purchase the system that I think the MOST gamers will be on so that I have the most competition to destroy. That looks like the PS4 right now. Gotta wait and see though.

I wonder if MS will reverse course on DRM and/or price. $100 more, DRM, less GPU power. Ouch.

I will probably own both at some point, but PS4 is unquestionably first.

The thing that sucks for Microsoft is they showed a lot of great games, and their conference was purely game focused, but its totally overshadowed by the megatons Sony just dropped. If they didn't have their DRM crap and were the same price as PS4 it would be a real tough decision if you were buying one console. But with those two things the decision is pretty easy.

Well, again...the games MS showed...very few were exclusive. Everything except Halo, Forza, KI, and Ryse are gonna be on PS4 or PC

Yeah I try not to bring morals into my purchasing decisions as much as I can help it. I guess MS just really rubbed me the wrong way with their recent announcements. Will I soften my stance once the systems are released and I see that perhaps MS's overall structure isn't as bad as I thought it would be? Sure definitely, because like you I enjoy good games and don't enjoy getting into console wars as much as I can help it.

I'm probably not as rich as you are though :p , but I could justify owning both consoles financially probably a year after release.

I'm not going to lie the MS conference had better games......but if you actually take out all of them except the exclusives the list isn't as impressive.

At the end of the day, like I said before, all Sony had to do was say "No DRM" and I would have jumped on board. They took it a step further and made it "$399" lol.

i think if the x1 was $400 and the x1 had no drm stuff, and ps4 announcing $5/mo to play online, that the ps4 would be in a lot of trouble. but it is the exact opposite, ms is going to be the one in trouble.

but ps3 started out much more expensive than the 360, and came out later, and in the end run, they were about even.

If it's true that the developers were the ones that strong armed MS into their DRM scheme, I wonder how it didn't happen to Sony. Makes me think that MS wasn't as forced to do it as they're leading people to believe. This will also give them an out to backtrack if they deem it necessary.

I could easily see them doing it too. Take the PR hit and the lol's they'll get, and move on.

The difference is MS built there numbers up mainly in America while Sony went after worldwide gamers. MS is no longer guaranteed to win in America after this reveal.

And one more thing, didn't you say that if Sony allowed rentals, you would be happy? They don't have those restrictions, so I'm confused by your switch on your stance.

And this could piss off publishers if MS tries to paint them as the bad guys.

Or Sony isn't entirely forthcoming on how the DRM will work. It could be up to the publishers, and if they do implement it, used games won't work on PS4 either. Or, they could not implement it in the Xbox One and it works the same on both consoles exactly the same.

Agreed. I could get both as well, I just don't agree with their practices, so...yea. Just opinions :)

If the rumors from CBOAT are correct (which I think nearly all of them he posted up yesterday on neogaf are/were) then it was MS who approached EA/Ubi/Act about the drm and EA/UBI popped major boners over it and Act less so.
