I'm going to go and pre-order it later today. If I decide that I don't want it prior to launch, I can always get my money back. I'm not too worried about the $500 price as to me, it's more like a $400 console with a mandatory $100 Kinect bundle.

Actually, I want to see if Target will start taking pre-orders. 5% off a $500 console sounds rather nice.

pissed me off that spartan assault is Win 8 only

I decided to go with Windows 8 on my new Haswell build, and it's actually not bad at all. I really like the new Task Manager and File Copy dialog, and I knew that I would since I saw them prior to release. However, there are two things I don't like:

1. If you're a heavy desktop user, you can use apps like Start8 or StartIsBack (what I use) to make Windows "more normal"; however, the default apps such as Picture Viewer are still metro-based and they take up your whole screen in a very annoying fashion. In other words, you need to rely more on third-party apps when that wasn't necessary before.

2. You can't turn UAC off through the UI, and if you do it through the registry, you will lose the ability to use the Microsoft Store. So, if you wanted that Halo game and really hate UAC's annoying prompts that aren't even necessary if you're a well-versed computer user, you can't. I think UAC being anbled why I've been getting tons of errors with Steam's Cloud Sync.

EA needs something to talk about in their keynote that's coming up!

Pre-ordered with Prime and went ahead with the next day delivery. I swear, Amazon makes so much money on my. Rather than using the free 2 day shipping from Prime, I always use the Next day if I am ordering a single item. =(

It will most likely have release date delivery.

did they say anything about xbox1 and wired 360 controllers working/not working on it?

I believe they said 360 controllers would not work on the Xbox One, but I assume they were talking about wireless. I don't know for sure on wired controllers, but if I were to guess, it would be they didn't work. I guess my 3 fightsticks won't work until I triple (as apposed to their current dual) mod them.

yeah i saw that when i was watching the video on youtube from their channel, and then i saw they were involved in the game of thrones game, then i remembered watching the angry joe top 10 worst games of 2012 yesterday and remembering game of thrones on that list lol.

i have a little bit of faith in rare though that they won't let it be a turd.

What don't you like about it? The only other complaint that I could come up with would be how I had to pay $3 to get back the Windows functionality that I prefer.

It looks more like the company has been saddled with terrible movie tie-ins. According to Wikipedia, the company was created through the merger of two others, which includes the creator of Earthworm Jim.

I wasn't going to pre-order it through Amazon. When I get something like a gaming console, I want it now. I will order it through a B&M merchant like Gamestop or Target. Although, Target isn't open 24/7, which makes it about as useless as Amazon. Also... UPS sometimes won't leave my packages, which creates a problem.

I'm debating if I should pre-order it just to sell it.

Might as well since I'm almost certain I can at least get my money back on it.

IDK, they are a company that merged with the company that made Earthworm Jim 1 and 2. That should give them about as much cred as the standard Kickstarter. "Oh I made a good game 20 years ago, give me a million dollars!"

Today, at Galen Center, we got to relive those moments as Microsoft announced an all new Killer Instinct, developed by Double Helix, would be available as a launch title for Xbox One.

i know i can already see it. they say it's playable on the floor at e3 though as well as other locations in la. hopefully some of the top socal players in the fighting community can get some hands on with it and give an opinion on it. if i hear it is terrible i will lose all hope right now though lol.

I can't do it myself...not for one game. Gotta have much more than that for me. So far, there's nothing. Multiplats I will play on my superior PC or can just grab on a PS4 don't sell me.

Sony has Naughty Dog and with their recent track record which IMO is nearly flawless the past 2 years. Microsoft doesn't have a similar example, nor the support of the Japanese development community the same way. I don't think Altus will be bringing Persona 5 to Xbox at all.

This is a stepping stone. If it doesn't hurt them then the next gen will be more intrusive and will be the same on all the platforms.

i'm not going to boycott a console just because everyone on the internet wants to. i buy consoles for 1 reason and that is to play games. if a console has games i want to play on it, i will buy it.

but to be 100% honest i'm not 100% buying it yet, but the ki has REALLY changed my mind to the positive direction.

Because at one point or another I have to look at it. The same reason I care if there are ugly people in some part of the world I am not currently at: at one point, I might have to see them and that offends my eyes!



I know you guys don't really care about sports games, but the EA announcements and demos of FIFA and Madden look and sound amazing.
