In the fantastically unlikely event that I find myself in NYC again, I'll hit you up for recommendations :D
For some reason I thought you or someone maybe with a similar color avatar was coming.

I did see the Tillamook cheese blends at the store today, including the Mexican.

Maybe not new new, but new to me. Went to Arby's and they have crinkle fries. Had some hot honey boneless chicken wings and crinkle fries. Fries were crispy and the chicken was tasty. I've always thought Arby's regular chicken sandwich was pretty underrated. I love curly fries, but I hope the crinkle fries aren't a LTO.

As for flour tortilla tacos people were talking about, I've eaten at a thousand different Mexican places over my life. Only remember seeing them at Taco Bell, Del Taco & Bakers, which is only in a small part of So Cal. I'll eat them if I see them, but unless you make them yourself or go to Taco Bell, or go to a TexMex sit down place and eat your fajaitas like tacos you're getting corn.

Wife and I tried the KFC spicy chicken sandwich. We were both surprised how much we enjoyed it. The fried chicken breast was pretty thick and the spicy sauce actually had some minor heat. We thought it was much better than Popeyes and McDonald's spicy chicken sandwich. Wife thought it was better than CFA. I don't know if I would go that far. I will need many more samples to accurately compare. CFA is crazy consistent. We might have just gotten lucky with KFC sandwich on this trip.

The only spicy chicken sandwich I've had worse than McDonald's was Jack in the Box.
I found CFA to be inconsistent, regarding heat level anyway, sometimes it would be barely spicy, other times it would be kinda hot. It was always good, though.
I can't rank Popeye's on spicy, because they use a mayo-based spicy sauce, and I really hate mayo.
That's why I'm partial to BK's Spicy Ch'King, their spicy sauce isn't mayo-based.

I don't usually get spicy chicken sandwich because the spicy version is typically more expensive than normal chicken sandwich. And I don't care if the sandwich is spicy hot or not because I can handle most heat.

I think I have really poor local Popeye's franchise because every time I tried the chicken sandwich from Popeye's, it's grossly salty. And I like salty food. I haven't tried BK's Spicy Ch'King because I really hate Burger King. Nothing I've had there in the past 20 years have been good. So I avoid Burger King if at all possible. And since BK also owns Popeye's, I haven't had the urge to try the Spicy Ch'King since I figure it's similar to Popeye's chicken sandwich.

Yeah, BK isn't great, they should have kept their own identity instead of trying to chase McD's fries and nuggets, and ruining them in the process.
But the Spicy Ch'King is the best sandwich they've ever offered.

Went to Popeyes today. It's been quite a few months. Probably since summer maybe? For the first time the chicken sandwich was small-ish. Usually it's big and plump with that great crust. Not sure if this was an outlier or if they reduced their portion size.

I had the new hottie one last week and it was pretty good sized, the one I had before that (6 months ago maybe) it was like they used a chicken tender, it was so small. Also one time I got one that wasn't on a brioche bun, it was just a whatever generic bun. I never know what to expect to Popeyes sadly, but when that sandwich is right, it's great. The hottie one was pretty meh, the sauce had no spice and the sweet wasn't even that great.

It's crazy times we live in when I can say the best/most consistent chicken sandwich I can get is from... Burger King? Like what the heeeeell. BK's junk, terrible fries, awful breakfast, dry ass burgers with 1/2lb of mayo on them to hide the dryness.

The cheesy tots are definitely better than the fries, IMO.

I honestly don't think it is possible to make a better spicy chicken sandwich than the Ch'King. The only downside is it is messy, but that really isn't a downside. I'd rather wear a smock than make it less messy.

My "local" Popeye's is terrible. Skimp on the sauces and overcook the chicken. Actively discourage ordering shrimp by saying "that will take 15 minutes." Fuck that place.

I had KFC today for reasons and I ended up with 1 piece original recipe and 1 piece extra crispy, also for reasons. I forgot how vastly superior extra crispy is to original recipe. Why would anyone want that garbage?

Anyone here eat at Lefty's? I went there a few weeks ago and got the Southpaw Wedges. I'm on a never-ending quest to find something that's legit spicy from a fast food spot. I went in with high hopes, but low expectations. They come with Carolina Reaper cheese, which made me think maybe this could be that one item that delivers, at least on some level.

Now I've never had Lefty's before so I had no idea what to expect, but even for my uber low expectations I was really let down. The Flamin Hot Cheetos on top were the only thing spicy that I detected. I know the guy making mine was a trainee as I heard him tell the manager "Please help, this is my 1st time making these" So I'm thinking *maybe* he accidentally put the wrong cheese on them. I wasn't expecting food challenge level heat, but I thought there would be some sort of punch to them. It goes Reaper > Ghost Pepper > the rest. And I've had Pepper Jack that was more spicy than this, and I don't find Pepper Jack spicy. I also had hope because while Ghost Pepper's are a trendy thing to put on your menu because most people know it as OHH HOT! Carolina Reaper's aren't really known so I thought I could be surprised here. I seriously doubt anyone here has had the actual southpaw wedges, but I noticed a few other things on the menu with the Reaper cheese.

You know what, maybe I should give up finding something spicy at a damn fast food place. But a part of me's still hoping the n00b who made mine just got the cheese wrong lol.

If you ever find it, be sure to report back. I've never found fast food to be anywhere close to spicy. There was a local bar/grill around here that made a chicken tender wrap, and you could order it with any of their wing sauces, including the "nuclear", which came with a bunch of warnings. That was legit hot. Just about perfect to my tastes. Made the terribad service there worth dealing with. They went out of business a few years ago :^(

No fast food chain is ever going to make something legit spicy because for every 1 person who wants real spice there are 50+ people who think they do and don't but are perfectly willing to blast the chain on the socials and sue them.

Had Popeye's spicy chicken tenders yesterday. I forgot to not order the spicy there because it's way too hot. Just kidding, it's not hot but the "spice" seems to be added capsaicin with no added flavor. It doesn't add anything to the taste and leaves an aftertaste of immense sadness.

I forgot to write about Freddy's fried cheese curds. Freddy's fried cheese curds are to die for. They are really good and they are really salty. I think the ratio is three orders per clogged artery but they are tasty and they give you your money's worth. If you don't like salt, then they aren't for you.

Is that Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers?

Speaking of salt, I've discovered I can buy proper country ham via Amazon now!

I think I've seen someone talk about raising cane's fried chicken - seems one is coming near me in times square. What's the down low on raising cane's?

It's fine, nothing special, people love the sauce, which is one of those typical mayo-based "secret sauce" kind of deals.
They just have chicken strips.

Taco Bell is selling wings:

1. One week only
2. Available after 2pm only
3. 5 crispy wings per box for $5.99

They are pretty good! Super crunchy. I'm buying them again today lol.
