Someone please tell me there's a way to fight under water? Tried to lead Lydia across a river near Solitude tonight and she got attacked by a crab, and then she aggro'd a fish. I wasn't able to draw a weapon or swing my fists while submerged, and apparently neither was she, since she just lunged around shouting "Now you'll pay!" Every now and then she would get up onto dry land and take a few arrow shots and then dive back in for some synchronized swimming. After about five minutes of this she managed to kill or drive off her assailants and then joined me on the far bank... but wtf? We can't fight under water? That has to be wrong, doesn't it? We've been able to fight under water since Morrowind. Stuff can attack you under water. You have to be able to fight it.
What difficulties are you guys playing at? Eventually for my Mage adept just became way too easy and I'm at expert now. Seems tougher so far but as long as I don't get hit and stand back I still win pretty easily.

Don't you have to join the Stormcloaks?
Put perks into your favorite weapon skill. It multiplies the damage. Also, I avoided smithing for a while and am sorry I did. Once I started making glass equipment the game got a lot easier. Especially when I turned right around and upgraded my glass swords to Epic. Double damage right there.
Ditto Mages. Put some points into Destruction so you can cast spells cheaper, make your fire spells stronger and also get Dual Casting. Remember with fire you dont have to keep hitting them. Use a short blast, let the enemy burn for a couple seconds then blast them again. Free damage and overall you use less magicka. Also try to find the best robes of Destruction you can get. Makes it even easier. And any rings or amulets or crowns that either help Destruction or magick in general. I have tons of nice stuff and I'm not really playing a mage. But against some enemies I find it good to equip one spell and one weapon.
I think it's more important to put points into Enchanting than any other non-fighting skill you're focusing on. Once I got enchanting, well holy shit. I have dual enchantments on everything, and have turned my fighter into a mage with no perk increases or magicka >100. Well, he can cast spells to level magic skills, but his damage is jackshit garbage.
Yep!.....I've my enchanting maxed out and its so much fun enchanting your own weapons/armour etc especially with 2 enchants.
That depends. What kind of resources would I need to get immunity to disease, poison, paralysis, fire, ice and thunder?
Seems to me it would be easier to just play the damn game and not waste so much time digging up all the spells and items I'd need.
Heck in Oblivion and Morrowind I didnt even bother with that nonsense. It was much easier to make the items in the Construction Kit and stick them someplace in the game world.
I think i found my favorite sword; something like celendo or so; lovely piece of weaponry.
Oh, forgot to tell you guys. Had my first crash to desktop at 41 hours. Not to freakin bad considering how many complaints I've heard.
No other glitches with the engine. None at all.
Shame the quests are so messed up.
