Hi lkailburn. Congrats on your XL2420. I just recently got an XL2411 myself. Boy, these Benqs are smooth!
Anyway, just wanted to elaborate on the 64hz bug that Kev refers to.
Like you I played @120hz with the new 13.2 beta and it was silky smooth. But soon I discovered a sort of "water splashing" sound when the fps reached 120-ish. I discovered it while walking outside Whiterun looking up at the sky (the fps shoots up when looking up at the sky).
I had heard others talk about this before but this was the first time I discovered it myself. Ok, so I restarted Skyrim with 100hz instead. Now the water splashing was gone, but another bug was still there: The animal-shakin'-stevens bug or something like that.
I discovered it while looking at the mammoths from a distance. They were shaking/vibrating like crazy. On the Bethesda forums many others have also reported this.
Ok, so restart and try 85hz instead. I knew this was going to work because I played at 85hz on my old CRT. And yeah, it worked fine.
So now I play at 85 and it's still notably smoother than 60. I tried 120hz + using a frame limiter, but that gave me screen tearing and also not so smooth. For now 85 seems to be the best option for me.
Haven't you seen the 64hz/watersplash/animalvibration bug yet? I think it's just a matter of time unfortunately.
