Also, guys... Book of Silence added Orcish armor re-texture to its pack now... totally EPIC :D

EDIT: Also, Werewolf Mastery mod - I looooove it!! Werewolves are sooo much fun now! They were cool before, but not that practical (like a Vampire Lord). I actually saw a new werewolf execution after 400 hours of playing Skyrim... both triggers = grabs the victim by their head, raises up and squashes like a paper bag :awe: :awe: :awe:

Gonna check these out!! Thanks!

Mod needed -- Is there a mod out there that improves the control binds for the PC? I'd like one where the "Activate" button only opens sacks/chests (etc.) and selects items and where the "Right Hand" button only uses what's in your right hand. It seems like when I use my "Activate" button it also swings the weapon in my right hand, which is real annoying.

Try checking the controls, I know at least one of your issues can be solved by changing them.

I haven't got to do the finishing move you are talking about yet, but just clicking both mouse buttons at the same time has a nice knockback hit. Another strike I like to use with the Werewolf is to attack while sprinting. It's really powerful. My werewolf now is fully upgraded, he is a very powerful option now. Now when I get pinned down by a bunch or Arch mages I can turn into a Werewolf and summon the "Ghost" werewolves and BAM -- Kills anything.

Does anyone know if I buy Dragonborn from bestbuy.com, do I just get a steam code? It says something about a digital library. I have a $20 gift card I was gonna use on it when its out.

It is going to require Steam everywhere for the PC. Skyrim is a Steamworks game that requires Steam for activation so any DLC will be the same.

calling all 120hz users. I'm hoping to pick one up for xmas, or more likely just after the holidays. What are you all using? Need some suggestions.
I'm hoping that going to 120hz will fix the annoying jitteryness when walking+panning around interiors that is driving me crazy!

Thanks

I know this post is months old but...I just installed skyrim last night and spent 2hrs trying to fix this goddamn problem.

The solution: Download MSI Afterburner and set a framerate limit of 60fps.

Shit like this really just makes me want to stick to consoles. What a ridiculous solution to an ridiculous problem.

I can see the Bethesda boards lighting up if this doesn't come out today. I wanted to get a couple of mod updates out before I head out to Germany/UK on Friday for three weeks, where I won't have access to Skyrim or the Creation Kit.

Hey Kev,
I ended up biting the bullet and picked up a BenQ XL2420t 120hz monitor. In indoor areas i usually see constant 120fps, in outdoor areas i see avg of about 90fps, low of 80fps but it ofcourse fluctuates depending what's onscreen. The extra FPS definitely help but did not cure the stutter. other games look fantastic on this monitor! I need to resist the urge to add another card. To really get 120fps i need a little more horsepower but the games already look great.

So what exactly does setting the afterburner to 60fps do?

3 weeks with no Skyrim!!!! :(

lkailburn - Can you tell Kev how to remove the FPS limiter?

The stuttering is still there - I still think it's an Driver issue. The DX9 flickering problem is gone on the AMD cards with the new 13.2 beta release. Last week i went from a Phenom II @ 4Ghz to a new 3570K @ 4Ghz and the dips are much better - but there is still stuttering, especially when riding a horse. Frames still showing 60FPS almost all of the time. it's the latency issue with the AMD cards that is causing it. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

Man how many hours did you play the game & put up with the stutter? It was driving me insane and making me sick.

Anyway it's an issue called the "64hz bug." I don't know how to technically explain it but it's an issue with all the fallout/elder scrolls game engines.

You basically just need to install MSI afterburner and there will be another program installed along with it. I forget exactly what it's called (at work right now) but there will be an icon in the tray with a purple 60 on it. You need to go into that program and click the wrench icon and enable the frame rate limiter at 60. You don't actually need afterburner, just this secondary program.

If you have any questions I can try to help later tonight when I get home.

try the solution I noted above...

I was getting 60fps consistently but constant stutter/jitter. I have a 7970 and needless to say I was quite disappoint.

Is the Dragonborn DLC compatible with the Texture Pack Combiner and all it's content?

I know the jittering is driving me a little crazy as well. I am hoping the new official AMD drivers will fix this.

Not sure - I am guessing the new textures for dragonborn will be low rez, but I am sure they will reuse a lot from the base game too.

I think I'm at 200 hours total now. Tried the 60 limit but that just limits me to 60FPS and I immediately realize how much better it is at anything above 60FPS LOL. even a low of 80FPS is hugely noticeable with a back to back comparison like that but most of the time i'm closer to 100fps. I would have loved trying that tweak when i was still using my Samsung LED at 60hz.
thanks though!
