I had yesterday off work, absolutely scary how much time I've spent playing this game the last two days. :D 20 hours according to Steam and I believe it!

So far zero crashes, running the drivers from BF3's launch, zero tweaks to the .ini file either. Loving it, running on Ultra but 4xAA and some of the object fade sliders at 50%.

I started it up and it made me use by Xbox 360 controller. Mouse and keyboard were disabled! Graphics seemed ok. The controls (on the 360 controller) seemed very clunky and unintuitive. I kept having to stop and flip through menus for 30 seconds to do anything. I made it to where you have to pick the lock on the cage and then quit. Doubt I'll play it again.

So came out of a building in Winterrun I think it is and I see an NPC spawn in the middle of the air high up and fall to their death. I run over and loot the body, holy hell there was a ton of high end gems and fair amount of money on her, score!

Yeah, it seems to be a known bug, I've heard the story of the chicken as well.

Ya, after Fallout and Deux Ex - both with experience point related leveling - I'm a bit miffed at Skyrim. Having it all skill-use based kills the incentive to do a lot of quests. It didn't bother me that much in Morrowind or Oblivion, so just a matter of getting use to. Ya, there's still the reputation/faction aspect.

Companions pissing me off. I got one "forced" on me, apparently, and now he's missing. I had to clear out a pretty hard dungeon without him, and left a lot of loot behind due to weight restrictions. Grrrr...

I found the experience method in Fallout inferior to the skill based ones. Just killing something doesn't improve your sword skills, but actually using one does. Or worse yet... killing something to gain your speach skill l:\

I torrented this game. Have to say even on ultra, the graphics is shit.. not what I expected. Maybe my eyes have been spoiled by bf3.

Hey now, we'll have none of that.

She just found the same spell scroll as the dude at the beginning of Morrowind. Or pissed off Sheogorath. ;)

I don't see little quirks like this as bugs but as the daedra gods being cosmic tricksters and having a little fun at the expense of us mere mortals. After all, this might resemble it but it is not our world. Then again, I'm an eccentric.

Agh, I've been trying to get this damn game to run decently on my laptop. From what I understand, I should be able to run it on medium settings with decent FPS. I have an i-7 processor with a GT 525m Nvidia gpu and 8 gigs of ram. I've tried tweaking it a bit here and there, lowered the resolution from 1920x1080 down to 1366x768 and put more settings at low. I can't seem to get decent FPS. With medium settings I'm getting about 12 FPS according to FRAPS and when I lower the settings further I might get near 30 if I'm lucky. I updated my vid drivers early today and have been searching around. A lot of people are saying they play this game on medium settings no problem and on high settings with just a small bit of lag. I'm having a hard time even on the lowest of settings. Any ideas?

Yeah, it seems to be a known bug, I've heard the story of the chicken as well.

The same happened in Fallout 3 as well - with NPC and enemies just falling out of the sky, most of the time it happened when an area was loaded or re-loaded...

I've had this occur once so far - a poor maiden fell out the sky as I was crossing the landscape... No crashes as of yet - about 4 hours in....

Which i7 cpu do you have? And in what areas of the game are you getting 12 fps?

There's your problem.
You are basically trying to play the game with integrated graphics.

And also on PC... I can't freaking figure out how to dual wield. I go into items, right click one weapon and it arms it. I left click the other weapon and it doesn't arm it. For some reason I can't freaking setup dual wield. Anyone have any ideas why?

I'll tell you what I hate is the over-head map - I want a map, not an globe to spin around...

This is one thing I've never quite understood. Say I have 2 swords, one has 20 damage, the other has 10 damage + "10 health absorbed". Do these 2 swords deal the same damage to an enemy?

I wish you could carry more stuff with you. I'm the type of player who would like to take everything that's not nailed down and sell it for gold. The 300 weight limit forces you to be really choosy.

Also anyone else love taking everything they can (without stealing) in each town and selling it back to them? :D I'll even take pots and pans, bread, anything that has any value.

I only take items that have a good value:weight. This actually seems to be quite a bit since I'm finding crazy amounts of valuable jewelry. I have more money than I could want and I'm still taking all the gold that vendors have each time I go to sell. Of course, I never buy anything so it's all rather pointless.

Oh, and I steal everything I can get my hands on that's valuable. They really make it too easy to steal things.

i7-2630qm @ 2.0ghz and I get the 12 FPS in all areas. I can get about 28 max when I lower settings and tweak it, which is playable, but not nice by any means.

As for my 525m gpu, I was under the impression that it was a decent card for a laptop and from a lot of reading I've done a lot of people are playing skyrim on medium with great framerates with similar cards.

I played the intro, completed the first quest and wandered a bit...I don't get all the hype, seems like a glorified Oblivion to me.

What's so great about this game?

Closer to glorified, dumbed down Oblivion, which was just a glorified, dumbed down Morrowind. Every time the series gets a graphics update it suffers a console driven game play gimping.
Next thing up is probably a movie directed by Uwe Boll.

It's really about immersion, you gotta let yourself go into the game, once you do, you'll be hooked. That's where Skyrim has continued to succeed with me unlike Oblivion.

You were under the wrong impression.

The UI is kinda bad, and poorly designed for standard keyboard/mouse. The first patch fixed some things with it, apparantly, but it still shows signs that Bethesda Just Doesn't Care about setting it up for PC. 'We'll get around to it eventually.'

http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/EricSchwarz/20111111/8866/Skyrim_or_How_Not_to_Make_a_PC_Game.php

Game itself looks pretty good though, considering. Character creation is better than in the past.

Seeing lots of high dollar TV advertising for it.
