There's new weapons in from the patch!! Apparently they are Second Assault weapons. Not sure if it was on purpose or another dice mistake because the assignments aren't on battlelog.

Edit: I saw a Russian PDW, a sniper, an lmg, a shotgun, and I assume a new assault rifle. No carbine tho.

Good. Hopefully second assault comes soon. I never liked China Rising and the stock maps are getting boring.
 
Anyone else seeing a problem when Origin is attempting the patch update. It is failing every time and telling me I have to have at least Vista to update. I have Windows 7. Any clues? I have been playing since day one, now this is happening.

One server I joined yesterday was like that, the sound came back after that round ended. It was odd though because I had just played a couple games on another server with perfect sound before that.

I had the same thing on a TDM server. A few of the other players reported having the same issue. When I had the problem I completely quit the game and restarted and it worked fine afterwards.

Are you running Origin in compatibility mode? Right-click on Origin.exe and click properties, then go to the Compatibility tab to check.

Since the friendly tag was the same size and often displayed over enemy tags, it took a second to figure friend/foe. Of course that second is all that the bad guy needed to smoke you. 🙁
 
That new spotting change is a very cool update, actually.

I've had the "could not connect" issue for quite some time. Never happens in game - just fails to connect from the browser. It does seem to happen more with servers that are near full. Quite sporadic, so it's hard to pin down the problem.

Thank you were correct sir, I unchecked comp. tab and all is good. I knew a guy from Rochester would help, I graduated from Bishop Kearney.
 
Until they allow servers to run high ping kicking plugins this game is never going to be as much fun as it should be. Server with %80 of the players with pings over 150ms :/ Pretty common now.

Esp now that you can buy codes in bulk notw in Russia for $1 each.

Seriously guys, long onto random servers and watch the hacking galore. Its not uncommon to bet on one of those 24/7 Locker servers and 4-8 people on each team are cheating when you observe them. Fairfight/punkbuster does not matter when they can literally be back up in game in a few minutes. Some just randomly hit keyboard to make usernames it seems just to hack. lol

I used to live very close to BK in East Irondequoit, now I live a little further away in West Irondequoit. I myself went to Brockport high school, then went to Monroe CC and then graduated from RIT. As much as I'd like to, I can't force myself to move out of Rochester...

I honestly haven't seen a single hacker in any server yet. Most hackusations are the product of horrible netcode making everything feel strange and the accuser simply not being as good as they think they are.

I've been banned from multiple lockers servers and I do not cheat. Play on the bbf lockers server they ban anyone who is any good for cheating so the server is full of baddies.

I'm no longer welcome there haha.
 
I've seen some outright hackers, but not often. Outright meaning constant headshots and huge 70-2 type scores. Otherwise I think most hackers generally run some sort of ESP/wallhack and are not that disruptive to a good player who reacts fast and can aim well.

I haven't played in a week or so though. The base maps have gotten boring and the China Rising ones are pretty horrible. I still enjoy Zavod and Flood Zone, not much else.

The rehashed BF3 maps are Metro, Caspian, Firestorm and what's the other one ?

Caspian and Firestorm should be a lot of fun for a while.

Yes, it's Gulf of Oman. The new Metro actually looks very good with new ways to enter the bottlenecked areas.

I've been playing in a Urock 24/7 Locker TDM server for a couple of weeks. Last night the number 1 guy on our team had a 500+ ping. I have noticed a few times where the admin gets on they sometimes kick the high pings.

Every morning on that same server I see a least one ban for hacks. I've seen the multihack the most along with a couple of others.
