The lasers add some ridiculous accuracy from hip-fire. It is especially annoying on snipers on HC TDM and Domination servers, because they are one-shot-kill. Don't even have to aim down the sight, just aim towards the enemy and your shot has a good chance of hitting them.

Do you mean like draw a crosshair on the screen with a marker would also work?

You could do that. My monitor actually has the ability to put a cross hair center screen in red or green. I just with I could customize its size and shape because its huge and distracting.

I was in KoF domination when I figured this out. By the end their admin was speccing me so I bailed before the ban hammer fell hahah.

This is what made BF2 so great. I really, really miss that part of it. Don't really know of any good FPS multiplayer games nowadays that encurage cooperation in that way. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was my absolute favorite. I love BF4, but if they could have gotten back that sense of teamwork, it would have been so much better.

This is not the generation you'd want to play games/cooperate with.
That communicative generation is long gone.

Well this is interesting.

Ignore your red dot site completely. Just concentrate on the laser dot. All your shots will not magically hit, and those head scratching ones where you are sidestrafing and missing EVERYTHING will no longer occur. I feel like I'm cheating now hahaha.

The other trick is if your monitor has a crosshair button turn it on. Your bullets will always hit the center of your screen where the dot is. The gun animation and red dot site are not at all in sync with where bullets are going.

Dat accuracy.

Do you mean looking down the scope, hip firing or both?

I haven't checked lately but when hip firing with a laser at the test range my bullets never hit where the laser is pointed. That doesn't make any sense.

And another thing, since the game came out, about 2/3 of the time when I get in a vehicle, I can't look around. Just straight ahead. I have to get out of the vehicle and get back in and I can look around then. The problem is when I spawn in a jet. I can't get out and back in reliably without "killed in action". Anyone else having this problem?

Toggling 3rd person view is an easier way to get rid of that issue. It's ridiculous they haven't fixed such an obvious bug yet.

Man, DMRs right now remind me of TF2 just after the Spy/Sniper update. I kind of don't want to play for a week or two.

I can't play the game with my headphones anymore cause of the sounds those damn guns make. It used to be tolerable when few people were using the guns... but now it just makes my ears want to give up.

Doh! Thank you. As simple as that solution is, I never thought to try it because I never use third-person view. The only time I see my vehicle is if I hit the 3rd person button by mistake. I know it would give me a tactical advantage sometimes, but I have a quirk about keeping the "realism" as much as I can. I guess I need to get out of that rut.

So, so true. I will say that online communication in Battlefield is not near as bad as COD. Some of the most immature, ignorant, arrogant morons you will ever run across feel the need to use headsets in COD. It's pathetic that people aren't taught to act better than they do.

Does anyone here play hardcore mode mostly? I find it very difficult to go on normal servers after playing hardcore for a month.

I only play hardcore. On a side not, itt's tough finding hardcore obliteration servers, which is my favorite game mode. I normally end up playing conquest or domination.
my origin ID is i4go if you want to add me.

Hardcore is the only mode I play because I hate inbuilt wallhacks.

I did find two servers that have minimap on which are great. If only they activated magazines too would this game would upgrade in my mind to "pretty good".

Same way I feel. If HC had minimap it would be perfect, though the snipers and DMRs are a bit ridiculous at the moment.

ROFL!
Are you for real?

You're free to think otherwise, which is deluded at best. But I don't see how being able to track a guy running behind a wall with a very very bright red arrow not a wallhack. In BF2, they only showed up in the minimap which wasn't detailed enough to give you all that much information other than knowing a guy was in the area.

Most people who have played the Battlefield series starting from before BF:BC have complained about this.

Doubly so in a game where you can blow up the goddamn wall he's behind and kill him. What kind of deluded game developer thinks that's a good idea?

I also hated it in BF2142, but that was mitigated by the fact that

a) The game was slower, so tactics came into play more often
b) Killing someone through a wall didn't exist.
c) The effect was much much more muted and far less obnoxious than it is currently

The Sniper and DMR problem would be less of an issue if effective HP was more like normal. Hardcore HP values simply make DMR's and Snipers strong because its 1-2 hit kill against anywhere to the body. In BF2 snipers weren't OP because even the STRONGEST sniper couldn't one hit kill you to the body. Also add in the fact that the guns were generally much more inaccurate and harder to use.

No one complains about it because you can turn it off. I can understand your point of view but mountain...molehill...

Which is exactly why I'm playing on the hardcore servers... which than runs into the issue of DMR's and Snipers being obscenely powerful because of the lowered HP pool...

The only reason why I extrapolated on the 3D spotting is because the other guy was perplexed as to why a bright triangle superimposed on the hud through everything could possibly considered a wallhack.

Basically BF4 needs a Classic BF mode. I still haven't found a server that offers this. My current favorite servers comes close, but still hasn't activated magazines.

What's the point of playing "hardcore" if you don't want to manage magazines There really is no point in hiding the HUD if the hud information is going to be absolutely useless to you anyway because ammo count's don't matter.

Can't you do that now, it's just there isn't a server running "your" settings? Start your own server?

I prefer some elements of HC but not all of them too. I like no 3D spotting, but I do like the minimap/HUD. Magazine ammo is purist stuff imo. ;)
