I was getting a random crash here and there and they stopped after the new map and update was downloaded as well. I hope its not a coincidence. I haven't had a crash since the updates. Very nice and I love that new map. Its damn awesome.
What isn't awesome at all is the stupid easter egg that's been recently discovered. Have you seen it? The one where you have to act like a world war 2 code breaker for hours and hours and do all sorts of stupid stuff just to unlock new camo? No thanks. Omg no thanks. It hurts so bad to even think about doing it I feel like I can't even breathe right now just thinking about it. I'm dying just thinking about it. I can't breathe. Somebody help please I can't bre
 
It's a special DICE camo. It looks like a painter's overalls. It requires so much work to get this camo, something tells me you must get more than that. Maybe if you do it, they mark your account to give you priority for the BF5 Beta. That makes sense and they would expect us true fans to be smart enough to know them well enough to expect something else besides a stupid camo. I'm still not doing it. Screw them.
 
Is anybody looking forward to BF5? What is it going to offer that the last couple haven't? did they make a new engine so thus new code which for EA/Dice(or whoever they have code it) will result in a ton of errors? Sadly I think BF4 was not too reliable for about a year on relatively popular hardware.

IMHO this franchise has become much like the sports games - a little better graphics, different players moved around and bam, new game. Is there a list that compares BF4 to BF5? Are they going to let xbox one people play with pc? Am I going to need rebuild on my rig in sig? Granted I am on Win7 on that machine, do not really want to go to Win10, maybe Win8.1 but not 10.

no way.

spent way too much $,$$$ on hardware (x4) attempting to enjoy this unbalanced, broken, cod-wanna-be game.

during the last potential hardware upgrade (furyx x4 n u3014 x3). reality really sets in. finally woke up from the ether.

first time (bf4) shame on dice/ea. second time (bf5) shame on me.

can deal with the hackers. at least they legitimately hacking.

here a few of the non hacking stupidity.
1. instant get in/out of vehicle
2. reflective clothing
3. sniper flashlight
4. everyone has a parachute on demand
5. head on crash in vehicle and simply walk away
6. everyone is a professional at gun/pistol accuracy
7. and a whole bunch more.

1. I would hate to play a game where I had to sit there, wait, and watch my character climb in and out of tanks, helos, jeeps, etc..

2. What is this reflective clothing you speak of?

3. Only idiots put flashlights on their sniper rifles. Unless you mean scope glare, but thats actually a real thing. Although I would think a super soldier should have a killflash available to him.

4. He is a super soldier... why wouldnt he have an on demand chute?

5. Perhaps the jeeps have 3 point harness belts???

6. Again he is a SUPER SOLDIER!!!!

7. My complaint is the minimal damage taken by enemies when I empty magazines into them (why I only play hardcore)....but again they are all SUPER SOLDIERS!!!!

Edit: Why does my super soldier who can vault ridiculously high walls with ease, sometimes get stuck on pebbles and tiny piles of rubble????

1. just a moment of venerability like when knifing... for getting in and out of vehicles..

2. you must of notice all soldiers stand out like a sore thumb regardless of background nor camo.

3. sniper glint regardless of light source.

4. 5. 6. love the super soldier excuses... lol..

7. even hardcore can use some hard polishing.

It's for balance. If you don't understand why this exists you didn't play much before it was added in, I think, BF2. That or you were always a sniper.

Actually, most of those things have been in the game since BF3, some back to BF2. How did you not know about them when you bought BF4?

only played bf3 single player a month or so before bf4 launch. when bf4 launch. bought 4 premium copies plus the necessary hardware (for 1080p ultra setting 45fps minimum dip). then dead broken bf4 took over. finally when that was fixed and playable a year or so later. these short comings really started to annoy.



back to stupid sniper flashlight

why not just add a white directional marker like what vehicle get when getting locked on (so solider get a general sense of where the threat is coming from).

then solider can scope out the squirrel with their INVR / FLIR should they deem necessary.

instead to completely give the sniper's position away. definitely a stupid.

First, because most snipers will kill you in one shot, knowing where he shot you from when your dead isn't a balanced mechanic. Knowing you're being scoped before you die gives you some chance. It also gives your team mates a chance to react once their buddy's head pops off. It's mainly so a sniper can't sit in one spot and take out people 40-0 without anyone knowing where's they are planted. Shoot and scoot.

Second, IRNV/FLIR have limited range, typically WELL beyond what a sniper is firing from, for their own balance reasons.

If you think sniper isn't balanced with scope glint, I suggest you play a round or two with moonbogg.

edit: if you mean directional marker as they aim, that wouldn't really help as you'd still be dead before you had a chance. Most snipers scope for a couple seconds max, they are only scoping on target for a second. You'd have no time to react.

My post was mostly in jest, but your number 6 (6. everyone is a professional at gun/pistol accuracy) is actually way off the mark. The majority of players are awful and cant hit the broad side of a barn.

But the main point is this is a game, and no one would want to play a game that is too realistic, since it would boring as hell. Besides no matter how a game is implemented there will always be tons of complaints, some warranted, some not, its just human nature.

Good points. The NUNYA server I typically play on is populated by numerous players who tend to be better than I am. I prefer getting killed by these guys because it makes me up my game and I have to mix up my tactics to take out someone who's serial-killing me. It's a challenge and I enjoy it regardless of what it does to my totally meaningless stats.

And I'm a pretty good player. I usually end up in the top half of my team for scores and if I'm paying attention to squad tactics then we're almost always the #1 squad.

That said, it's not all the fun to be on a server that's populated by easy-to-kill players. There's no challenge to it.

And the downsides of scope glare are one of those things you can use to your advantage. I like to be on top of buildings with surprises set behind me and when someone sees where I am and they come after me I collect yet another C4, knife, shotgun, or Claymore kill.

Because even if you see me in the sniper kit it doesn't mean that my goal is to snipe you. 😎
 
Just ordered parts for a new computer for my wife,main parts consist of a G1820,a single stick of 4gb ddr3 1333 and a GT 740 1gb GDDR5.A kit of 1600 8gb will be installed eventually soon when the time comes for a i3 upgrade.

I know the GT 740 as far as 60+ fps at any time is pretty much only happening if i stick to all low and a 1366x768 resolution which works as i will be sitting at 1280x800 anyways.The g1820 i am sure would be the bottleneck way before the GT 740 with regards to my golden standard of 60+ fps

How would the G1820 hold up?Would a i5 2500 at 2.7Ghz with 2 cores disabled give a good representation of performance or is Haswell that much better off?

I know the 4gb may be question,4gb seemed to run considerable ok the last time i ran that much ram but it was paired with a X4 9150E which was a god awful first generation Phenom quad core@ 1.8Ghz.

Worth the time of day to install BF4 on these specs?
 
anyone else recently having errors after the last dlc.

say hello to "dxgi error device hang."

dice/ea is constantly breaking this game. was solid just prior to this dlc. now broken again.
